Duck Commander 500 OddsNASCAR Betting Online:Back in 1997, NASCAR came to Texas Motor Speedway for the very first time. Immediately, it was known as one of the most exciting tracks on the circuit thanks to its ridiculously high speeds and the frequent crashes that often totally alter the way the races end up playing out. If you're going to win the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, you don't necessarily have to have the best car in the field. You just have to have the best car in the field that avoids big problems for 334 wild laps.

Catch all of the high-speed thrills and chills of the 2018 O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 on Sunday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. ET live on FOX.

2018 O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 At a Glance

Racetrack: Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, TX
Track Length: 1.5 miles
Total Laps: 334

Texas Motor Speedway will always be known for its parity. The O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 set a record from the very beginning of its existence in 1997. The first 10 drivers who won the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 were all different, the longest streak in the history of any single NASCAR event. The man who finally broke that was Jeff Burton, who won both the initial event in 1997 and the 2007 event.

There are times when the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 has been a relatively clean race. The drivers averaged 160.577 miles per hour at the 2012 edition of the race, but we've also seen races at Texas Motor Speedway with a dozen cautions that have barely been run at 125 miles per hour as well. The 2016 edition of the race featured 41 laps under the yellow flag, an unintended consequence of the speedy action.

Back in the earlier days of the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, anybody who was an anybody who could avoid a big wreck ultimately had a shot at winning. Elliott Sadler was probably the most unheralded winner in the history of the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, but perhaps the most stunning name on here is Dale Earnhardt Jr. "Little E" was just a rookie at the time, and he won what was just his 12th career race, breaking the record for the fewest starts to get to Victory Lane for the first time originally held by his old man. It was a proud day in the Earnhardt household for sure, and it was a day that helped reshape the history of racing in the first family of NASCAR.

Most Career Wins (By Driver) at O'Reilly Auto Parts 500

Wins Driver Years
2 Jeff Burton 1997, 2007
2 Matt Kenseth 2002, 2011
2 Greg Biffle 2005, 2012
2 Kyle Busch 2013, 2016

There's nothing to be shocked about here. The O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 always has been a tough race to win and a harder race to repeat at, and the end result here is just a maximum of two wins for any driver. Burton was the first driver to pick up a second career win at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, but Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle and Kyle Busch have since followed suit. Busch is the driver with the fewest years between victories at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 having done so in 2013 and 2016. The other drivers who won this race twice did so with at least seven years of gap in between trips to Victory Lane.

Most Career Wins (By Team) at O'Reilly Auto Parts 500

Wins NASCAR Team Years Won
7 Roush Fenway Racing 1997, 1998, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2012
3 Hendrick Motorsports 1999, 2009, 2015
3 Joe Gibbs Racing 2010, 2013, 2016
2 Robert Yates Racing 2001, 2004
2 Team Penske 2003, 2014

It's been tough sledding on a lot of these teams as well. There aren't many races that Hendrick Motorsports has only won three times since 1997, but this is one of them because of the unpredictable nature of Texas Motor Speedway. Roush Fenway Racing has easily had the most success of the bunch, winning this race seven times, including being the only team to win it in back-to-back years, doing so in 1997 and 1998 as well as in 2011 and 2012.

Most Career Wins (By Manufacturer) at O'Reilly Auto Parts 500

Wins Manufacturer Last Win
10 Ford 2014
5 Chevrolet 2015
3 Toyota 2016
2 Dodge 2006

In fairness, outside of Pontiac, there hasn't been a major manufacturer put a car on the track at Texas Motor Speedway that didn't win this race at least once. Even the little-used Dodge machines have a pair of victories. What's most surprising is that Chevrolet only has five of the 20 all-time wins at the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, a shocking winning percentage of just 25 percent. Ford drivers have won half of the all-time races here with 10 triumphs, the last of which came in 2014.

How to bet on Nascar O'Reilly Auto Parts 500

The odds of a driver to win the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 will generally look something like:

  • Jeff Gordon + 200
  • Mark Martin + 250
  • Jeff Burton + 300
  • Bill Elliott + 700
  • Robby Gordon + 700
  • Field + 500

These betting odds will be lower when betting on a driver to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.

A player would have to bet $10 to win $20 that Jeff Gordon will win the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, while the bettor wagering on Bill Elliott stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.

Another commonly placed bet in NASCAR is head-to-head finish between two drivers. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the driver finishes in, as long as the driver finishes higher than the other driver.

A head-to-head betting line for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 will look something like:

  • Mark Martin - 130 Jeff Burton + 110

In this bet, players wagering on Martin to finish higher than Burton will be asked to risk $13 to win $10, while bettors believing that Burton will finish higher than Martin will bet $10 to win $11.

Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to NASCAR wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of NASCAR betting without too much hassle.
