NASCAR Betting Odds: After all of the hubbub surrounding the two weeks of racing at Daytona International Speedway, sometimes, NASCAR fans forget about the rest of the season. For the boys of summer though, the second race of the season, the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500, is every bit as important when it comes to the ultimate goal of winning the Sprint Cup. Every single winner is treated equally no matter when that win comes, and a victory at Atlanta, though not as notable as a win at the Daytona 500, will effectively do the same thing in the long run for the man standing in Victory Lane.

Running at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March has its own challenges for sure. The weather is generally fairly cold at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500, and if the race runs into nightfall, the track really runs completely different often times than it does when the race is still being run during the day. Furthermore, even though this is a standard 1.5-mile oval, it's the first race of the year on such a track, and the top teams end up usually doing well as a result.

You're going to notice the theme here over time in the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500. Hendrick Motorsports seems to have this track figured out. Even though JGR has dominated the early races in NASCAR for the most part in recent years, HMS has taken the checkered flag for three straight years thanks to Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne, and this success has been relatively consistent.
The last driver to really come out of nowhere to win the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 was Jerry Nadeau back in 2000. He was a Hendrick driver, so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised, but he was always playing second fiddle to Jeff Gordon in his career.

There is only one active driver who has even two career wins at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500, that being Kasey Kahne, the winner in 2009 and 2014.

Remember discussing the dominance of HMS earlier? Here it is, all laid out. Not only has Hendrick Motorsports won the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 nine times in its history, but all of the wins have come since 1998, including being the only team to win this race three years in a row.
Joe Gibbs Racing's inclusion on the list of the top teams all-time in the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 isn't surprising. What is surprising is that four of those wins are courtesy of Bobby Labonte from back in the day. The recent breed of JGR drivers haven't won the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 since 2013 and have a total of just three victories since Labonte retired.

Chevrolet just continues to dominate at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500. The team has 23 all-time wins in this race, and though its margin beyond Ford wasn't all that much three years ago, the three victories since then thanks to Hendrick Motorsports have lengthened that lead.
Still standing third best are the since-retired Pontiac machines. They picked up four wins with the aforementioned Labonte, more than any of the other minor manufacturers in the history of the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 all by himself.
