2013 Perth International Winner - South Korean Jin Jeong beats England's Ross Fisher in playoff to win Perth International title

The 23-year-old South Korean tapped in from close range after Fisher missed a four-metre effort for par on the 18th, the first play-off hole, to win the $2 million event which was co-sanctioned by the European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.

Trailing overnight leader Brody Ninyette by a stroke, Jin got off to a nightmarish start with a double bogey on the par-four first hole after four putting.

He kept his composure, though, to gain five strokes over his next 17 holes to finish tied with former Ryder Cup player Fisher on 10-under for the tournament after the Englishman finished with a 68.

Jin, who has played on the Challenge Tour this season and was due to take part in the second stage of the European Tour's qualifying school, earned a two-year exemption after his victory.

Local hope Ninyette, who had a three-shot lead at one point, dropped three bogeys in his final six holes to finish two strokes off the pace.

He signed off with an even-par 72 to be tied for third spot with compatriot Dimitrios Papadatos and England's Danny Willett.

Fisher's runner-up finish with a closing 68 saw him climb to the top-60 in The Race to Dubai and should earn him a place at the World Tour championship next month.

2012 Perth International Golf Championship Winner - Van Pelt holds off Dufner to win Perth International

AMERICAN golfer Bo van Pelt won his first event of the year at the Perth International at Lake Karryinyup yesterday and dedicated the title to caddie Scot Steele who died in the US on Friday after suffering a heart attack.

"He was a good friend to us all and it was great to get the job done for him today," Van Pelt said.

Steele, who was caddying for Kirk Triplett, collapsed in a golf club car park in North Carolina a week ago.

Van Pelt, the world No24, had rounds of 70 67 67 and 68 to finish 16 under par on 272 and pocket a cheque for $333,330.

"I've had a lot of top 10s this year and it's great to get a win," said Van Pelt after starting the day one shot clear of world No10 Jason Dufner, who closed with a 69 to finish second.

Dufner paid tribute to his fellow American, saying: "Bo played really good today, put a lot of pressure on me to make something happen, but I couldn't quite do it. You're going to have a hard chance winning when someone plays as well as Bo did."

Spaniard Alejandro Canizares shot 68 on the final day to grab outright third at 11 under par.

Argentina's Emiliano Grillo, who led for much of the tournament, closed with a 74 to finish in a tie for fifth.

By the 10th hole it became clear that the final day had become a shoot-out between good friends Van Pelt and Dufner.
