Charl Schwartzel is a three-time Alfred Dunhill Championship winner and has the most wins of any golfer here. He won in back-to-back fashion in 2012 and 2013 with his lowest score coming in 2012 where Schwartzel shot a 24-under and beat the rest of the field by 12 strokes. That score broke the record at this event for the lowest score to date and it still stands. Schwartzel won the 2011 Masters Tournament with a 14-under, defeating Adam Scott and and Jason Day by two strokes. He has 12 professional wins in all with nine of those coming on the European Tour.
Also competing this year at the Alfred Dunhill Championship are Louis Oosthuizen and Danny Willett. Oosthuizen won The Open Championship in 2010 and also has 12 career wins. He lost in a playoff at The Open Championship this year. The 33-year-old’s most most recent win came at the 2014 Volvo Golf Champions where went 12-under and defeated Grace by a stroke. Willett picked up his most recent win in July, winning the Omega European Masters with a 17-under. The English golfer has three wins in his career and all three of come on the European Tour.
Other golfers who have committed to the 2015 Alfred Dunhill Championship is two-time champion Pablo Martín-Benavides. The Spanish golfer won here in South Africa in 2009 and 2010 and was the last non-South African golfer to win this event. The 27-year-old’s best score at the Alfred Dunhill Championship came in 2009 where he shot a 12-under. He is looking for his first win since 2009 in golf odds.
