UFC 201: Demetrious Johnson vs Wilson Reis PredictionsUFC Betting Online: The flyweight division is running out of challengers to take on Demetrious Johnson. The argument could be made that he's the best pound-for-pound cage fighter on the planet at the moment, and he's the undisputed best flyweight in the world and the only champion the division has ever known since its inception in 2012.

It's almost not fair for Wilson Reis to be stepping into the octagon with Johnson knowing that he's only ranked No. 8 on the flyweight ladder heading into UFC 201. Reis though, is going to give this his best and hope that he's the man who can finally dethrone the flyweight champ.

Demetrious Johnson Recent Form

It's really hard to argue with Johnson right now. He lost the bantamweight championship to Dominick Cruz in October 2011 and drew Ian McCall in March 2012, but since that point, there's been nothing stopping him.

Mighty Mouse beat McCall in the rematch a few months later at UFC on FX in the showcase fight, and he has since gone on to take care of Joseph Benavidez, John Dodson, John Moraga, Benavidez a second time, Ali Bagautinov, Chris Cariaso, Kyoji Horiguchi, Dodson a second time and Henry Cejudo. What's left in this division to challenge Johnson? That's really the big question. Reis is one of the few on this ladder to not fail against Johnson at least once before, and the top dog on the ladder, Benavidez has already been beaten twice by Mighty Mouse.

It's also not often that Johnson has to go the distance to win fights. He does have a few unanimous decision victories under his belt, but the last time he fought the full five rounds and wasn't awarded with a submission, a knockout or a unanimous decision was against Benavidez at UFC 152.

Wilson Reis Recent Form

Reis only has six fights since signing on with UFC, and he really hasn't had a fight anything like this. He did beat Dustin Ortiz in January at UFC on FOX, but that's really his only pretty big victory. He had a shot against Jussier Formiga but ended up losing that bout via unanimous decision.

Reis actually has never had a knockout in his career, but he has a history of being a submission expert. His best submission came against Scott Jorgensen at UFC 179. That's the only fight he was in that didn't go the distance.

Reis is 4-2 since joining UFC.

Keys to the Fight

Reis definitely classifies as a tactical fighter. When he manages takedowns, he often heads for submissions, and that could get in some trouble in this match. Johnson isn't taken down often, but when he is, he often uses his speed to get out of it. The fact that Reis really doesn't have the ability to score a knockout is probably going to work against him.

If you're Johnson, you just have to keep doing what you've been doing over the course of the last several years. He's outstriking just about everyone he runs up against, including outdoing Cejudo by a 21-6 margin in April in UFC 197. He's the best defensive fighter in the flyweight division, and when he gets his positions to strike, he rarely fails.

There's a reason when the MMA odds debut in this match, Johnson will end up being a massive favorite.

UFC 201 will take place at Phillips Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, July 30, 2016. The fight between Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis will be for the flyweight championship and will be one of the showcase bouts of this Pay-Per-View card for sure.
