Another bout of interest at Bellator 156 is the welterweight showdown between Douglas Lima and Chidi Njokuani. Lima has a professional record of 26-6 which includes 12 knockout victories and 11 wins by submission. The 28-year-old will be eager to get back in the winning column at Bellator 156 after falling to Andrey Koreshkov in his most recent bout last July. That loss marked his only fight in 2015. Lima’s latest victory was in August 2014 when he defeated Rick Hawn by technical knockout. He also has victories over Ben Saunders, Bryan Baker and Michail Tsarev in his career. Njokuani has a record of 14-4 with one no contest. He has defeated eight opponents by knockout in his career. The American fighter is riding a four-fight winning streak coming into this bout in Fresno and will look to make it five straight against Lima. Njokuani went 3-0 in 2015 with victories over Ricky Rainey, Max Griffin and Gilbert Smith. His last loss was in March of 2013 against Jeremy Kimball. It’s also his only loss in the last five years. He’s gone 9-1 with one no contest since 2012.
