Boxing Betting Lines: If you’re looking for the best advice for boxing odds, you’ve certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook we’re previewing the super lightweight bout between Antonio DeMarco and Omar Figueroa Jr. on December 12th, 2015 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.
Mexico’s Antonio DeMarco comes out of retirement to face undefeated American boxer Omar Figueroa Jr. in a super lightweight bout showdown on December 12th, 2015 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. Considering Figueroa’s superior record, he should be favored in boxing odds.
Omar Figueroa Jr. is undefeated so far in his career with a record of 25-0-1 so far. Figueroa will be looking for his second win of the year against Demarco after defeating Ricky Burns by unanimous decision back in May. Figueroa’s win over the former world champion in May marked his debut at 140 pounds. He finished 2014 with two victories— first, defeating Jerry Belmontes by split decision in April and then taking down Daniel Estrada in a ninth-round knockout in May. He won the interim WBC lightweight title against Nihito Arakawa in July 2013 and defended that belt twice before moving up to the super lightweight division. The Texas native has had an impressive start to his career after turning pro in 2008.
His only bout that did not win in a victory came in November 2010 when he fought to a draw against Arturo Quintero. Since then, Figueroa has won 15 straight with nine of those victories coming by knockout. The 25-year-old is two-and-a-half inches shorter than his newest challenger, but has a two-inch reach advantage. He’s gone 111 rounds in 26 bouts while DeMarco has fought in 198 rounds in 37 routs.
Antonio DeMarco has a record of 31-5-1 with 23 knockout wins. DeMarco announced his retirement for the sport following his decision loss to Rances Barthelemy back in June, but has decided to return to the ring just six short months later to face Figueroa. DeMarco will be eager for a win as he has gone 0-2 in his last two appearances, also falling to Jessie Vargas by decision in November of 2014 in a bout for the WBA Light Welterweight title. The 29-year-old’s most recent win came in August of 2014 when he defeated Lanardo Tyner by decision. He has also captured wins over Jesus Gurrola and Fidel Monterrosa Munoz recently. DeMarco has gone 3-3 in his last six bouts. He is a former lightweight champion like Figueroa and previously held the WBO NABO Lightweight Title as well as the WBC Lightweight Title. DeMarco started his career at 8-0 after making his debut back in 2004 in boxing odds.
