Ismael Barroso is 19-0-2 in his career with 18 wins via knockout. He began with a draw in his inaugural bout and had another five fights later, but Barroso has been ultra-impressive ever since. He picked up the WBA Fedebol lightweight title with a TKO of Julio Camano on March 30th, 2012. Barroso then followed that up with six straight victories to set up a shot at the interim WBO NABO lightweight title and claimed it with a knockout of Issouf Kinda. Barroso hasn’t slowed down since that point with victories over Ira Terry and Kevin Mitchell in his two most recent bouts.
Crolla has more experienced at the highest level of fighting, which is why he could be the favorite of this fight. Crolla has the WBA belt to his name and handled Darleys after fighting to a draw the first time. That is a good sign, although facing off with a surging Barroso won’t be easy. Even though Barroso has two draws on his resume, both came early in his career and since then has been impressive work with wins via knockout every time except once.
