Through one round at Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams still big favorites

History will tell you that Wimbledon is a tough tournament to win, knowing that there are a lot of upsets caused by the grass surface.

Through one round of the third major of the year, there are only a few of the top players who are already out, but we have yet to see a major shakeup in the odds at the top of the tourney.

MEN'S TOURNAMENT ODDS ( Updated 6/30 )

Novak Djokovic +120
Andy Murray +250
Roger Federer +700
Stanislav Wawrinka +1400
Rafael Nadal +1600
Grigor Dimitrov +3300
Milos Raonic +3300
Tomas Berdych +3300

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga +4000
Kei Nishikori +5000
Nick Kyrgios +5000
Marin Cilic +6600

We've only chosen to list off the top 12 names on the men's side of this tournament due to the fact that it would be virtually impossible for anyone else aside from this to go all the way.

Then again, you could probably make the case that any name aside from that of Djokovic would be a total shock.

Djokovic swept through Philippe Kohlschreiber in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, and his path remains completely open to get into at least the quarterfinals without any hassles.

The fact that Nishikori needed five sets to survive an opening round match against Simone Bolelli is concerning in and of itself, but the fact that he won't get through the quarterfinals without playing against Federer is equally concerning.

The bottom of the bracket is significantly more open, and anyone could be a factor.

Federer is coming off of a win last week in England, and his straight sets victory in the opening round did nothing to deter us from thinking that he could be a contender.

The fact that Federer's toughest opponent before the semifinals is set to be Berdych is encouraging for both men. Betting on either one at long odds is probably a good call.

Murray and Nadal are on a crash course for one another in the quarterfinals, which really is a deterrent to betting on either man at this early stage.

WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT ODDS ( Updated 6/30 )

Serena Williams +150
Petra Kvitova +300
Maria Sharapova +900

Sabine Lisicki +1600
Agnieszka Radwanska +2500
Lucie Safarova +2500
Sloane Stephens +3300
Belinda Bencic +4000
Caroline Wozniacki +4000
Karolina Pliskova +4000

The first shock of Wimbledon came when Simona Halep, the third seed in this tournament and the fifth favorite at the outset got knocked out of the first round at Wimbledon.

Of course, that is going to open up one side of the draw. Svetlana Kuznetsova, who has had a great history here at Wimbledon, now can't face a seeded opponent until the fourth round, which probably gives her a strong price at 150 to 1, while things look good for Angelique Kerber as well, who could very reasonably not play a ranked player until at least the quarters.

The problem that we have with Kerber is that she has seen a massive dip in her odds after playing just one match. She went from 30 to 1 down to 16 to 1. Yes, that 6-0, 6-0 opening round victory over Carina Witthoeflt was impressive, and yes, she should have an easy draw in the second round as well against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, but we still don't trust that drop in her Wimbledon odds this quickly in the tourney, even with Halep going out.
