West Brom could prove to be a pain to Manchester United on BPL Match Day 12

Manchester-United-vs-West-Bromwich-Nov2

Manchester United has a long week in front of it. The Red Devils have to host CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in the Champions League, and they have to turn around in a hurry to get ready for what could be a dangerous fixture against West Brom.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The oddsmakers know just how brutal the schedule could be here for Manchester United, yet they really don't have much of a choice but to make it a heavy favorite here at home. The Baggies are big dogs at 8 to 1 on the moneyline, as Manchester United is a -300 choice and is laying a goal and a half on the Asian handicap, a number which we could see flying up to a full two goals by the time kickoff rolls around.

The total is understandably high at 2.5 and -130 vig on the over.

KEY INJURIES

West Brom is going to wait and see on the status of Chris Brunt for this week's fixture. Unlike Manchester United, which has a busy week in front of it, it's business as usual for Albion, and that's why Brunt, who went off against Leicester last weekend with what seemed to be a minor leg problem, will be up in the air for this match.

Matteo Darmian will be suspended for this match after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season for Manchester United, but that won't be the big problem Louis van Gaal has to deal with. Instead, both Enner Valencia and Memphis Depay are question marks, and that could really be a huge issue in the attack for the Red Devils.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"When you are not creating so many chances, you cannot complain. Against Middlesbrough (in the Capital One Cup last week), I thought we had chances to finish, so that is of more concern. But today, we had no chances to win it." – Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on the struggles for his offense last week in matches against Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace

RECENT FORM

Van Gaal has reason to be concerned for sure about his offense, especially with Valencia and Depay on the mend. The Red Devils have now gone three straight matches (plus and extra 30 minutes against Middlesbrough) without scoring a goal, and the team has tallied just four times since the start of October. That's not going to get the job done, and it's why Man U has fallen out of the Top 3 in the BPL and has been eliminated from the Capital One Cup.

WBA is in respectable form at the moment. Yes, the team was beaten by Leicester City 3-2 at the Hawthorns last week, but that came on the heels of matching 1-0 wins at home against Sunderland and on the road against Norwich City.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

We love West Brom and the goals in this game, and we wouldn't even be surprised if it got a share of the spoils. The Baggies are doing the job offensively for sure, as Salomon Rondon and Saido Berahino could end up being a tremendous burden for Manchester United.

We suspect WBA will continue its run of four straight matches with at least one goal in spite of the fact that the United defense remains in fine form.

Can Wayne Rooney find the back of the net? If he can't, we're really concerned about the rest of this Manchester United side. Bastian Schweinsteiger hasn't proven to be creative whatsoever, and with Depay and Valencia out, we're just not sure where the goals are coming from.

We think Man U will crack one home, but that won't be enough to cover, and it might not be enough to win either.
