Even though Liverpool isn't going to finish any higher than sixth this year in the Premier League, it's hard to say the season still can't finish as a success. Considering the fact that many questioned the idea of relegation after a disastrous couple months out of the blocks, the Reds have done well to get themselves into a position to play European soccer again next season. They'll wrap up their EPL campaign on the road against West Brom this Sunday, and you can bet that tensions will be high for sure.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Liverpool has two ways to get into Europe next season in some respect. The club will guarantee itself a spot in the Champions League by beating Sevilla in the Europa League Final on Wednesday, a match which has to be the main focus at this point.

However, with that match basically turning out to be a crapshoot, the Reds can drop into the Europa League for next year by finishing at least sixth and will have a shot to get there by finishing seventh should Manchester United do what it's supposed to do and win the FA Cup next Saturday. The only problem is that Liverpool needs to win this match to have any chance of improving from eighth. The team needs a win and losses by one of Manchester United, West Ham and Southampton on the last day of the term to finish seventh and a win with two of the three losing in front of it on Sunday to reach the coveted Top 6.

Still, with an eye clearly turned to next Wednesday against Sevilla, Liverpool is only the very modest +147 favorite to win this match against the Baggies.

The total is high considering the fact that the match is perceived to be wide open at a flat 3 and -115 vig on the under.

KEY INJURIES

We're really not sure what this side is going to look like for Jurgen Klopp on Sunday. We know that there are a number of injury concerns. Danny Ward, Jordan Rossiter, Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Jordan Henderson and Joseph Gomez are done for the year for sure, and none of them will be thinking about Euro 2016 coming up in a few weeks either.

But would Klopp rest any of his other stars in this match and put all of his eggs in the basket of the Europa League finale, perhaps the richest match in European soccer?

West Brom, a team with nothing else to play for after Sunday, won't have Chris Brunt, James Morris or Alex Pritchard for sure. Jonny Evans, Darren Fletcher and Stepane Sessegnon face late fitness tests.

LIVE BETTING

West Brom pulled itself clear of the relegation battle once and for all when it drew Bournemouth last weekend. Not having that sweat on the last day of the campaign will be a thrilled for Albion, but we can't forget that they haven't won a match since upsetting Manchester United at home on March 6.

Liverpool is in respectable form at the moment, but a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the home finale on Wednesday was a bit of a shock and certainly did nothing to help the cause to get into the Europa League. That's three really sort of shocking results out of four for the Reds, who have also lost to Swansea City and drew at home to Newcastle just since April 23.

QUICK PICK

For our money, Klopp has made his intentions clear already without saying much. This Liverpool team just looks a heck of a lot better playing in the Europa League than it does against the other Premier League teams. This club really wants to play in the UCL next year, and a win on Wednesday would render this game rather useless.

West Brom's players of note have an eye on the future. Saido Berahino and Salomon Rondon could very well be playing their last matches with the club before getting sold in the summer, as could Craig Dawson, who has become a fixture at the back for this team.

To us, this reeks of a relatively low-scoring draw. It would surprise us if either team put more than one in the back of the net. The level terms won't help Liverpool at all, and that will put even more pressure on it in Basel on Wednesday night against the back-to-back Europa League champions.
