Soccer Odds - Tottenham vs. West Brom Match Preview

Tottenham-vs.-West-Brom.ar

Monday's match for Tottenham Hotspur will feel a lot different depending upon what Leicester City does over the weekend. If the Foxes drop points in that match, White Hart Lane is surely going to be buzzing with a chance to get back within perhaps two or three points of the leaders.

Either way, West Brom really feels like nothing but a sacrificial lamb here against a team which is playing great soccer at the moment and has a lot of momentum going for it.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Spurs are the biggest favorites of the Premier League weekend, and they really have to be considering how badly they have to win this match if they want a shot at claiming a championship. They're laying a whopping -465 and are giving a goal and a half on the Asian Handicap.

If you really want a lottery ticket on the Baggies, you can get a whopping price on them at +1475 on the moneyline. We've seen stranger for sure.

The total is relatively high at 2.5 and -140 vig on the over, but the insinuation is here that Tony Pulis' side probably isn't scoring at White Hart Lane.

KEY INJURIES

Alex Pritchard really has some potential for West Brom, but he isn't going to be playing in this game in all likelihood due to a hip injury. At best, it sounds like Pritchard will be available off of the bench for Albion. James Morrison and Chris Brunt are also set to miss this match.

Tottenham has only had two injuries of note for a while, but they're big ones. The team is winning right now in spite of the fact that Nabil Bentaleb has been out with a knee injury for over a month. Clinton N'Jie is also out.

LIVE BETTING

If we discount Aston Villa, which has already been relegated to the Championship for next season, WBA has the fewest goals in the EPL this season with just 31. We haven't seen this team score more than one goal in a game since March 1, and the Baggies only have two goals in that span of six matches. It's been 264 minutes since West Brom has put one in the back of the net, and that has to be a real concern here for its bettors.

Tottenham meanwhile, has just whooped up on foes of late. Matches at home against Manchester United and at Stoke City could've been dangerous, but the Spurs did the job in emphatic fashion, winning the two games by a combined score of 7-0. The only points the Spurs have dropped since March 5 came in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool, a match which was always going to be tough.

QUICK PICK

Belief is a big thing in the Premier League, and the Spurs are going to be favored to end up with at least nine points in their last four matches of the year. They'll need to have confidence that's enough, though. That's why the Leicester City match is so darn important.

Though it's tough to see where West Brom is going to score from, if it does just once, this could become a really frustrating match for the hosts. This is a match which could easily be overlooked, especially if the Foxes get their three points over the weekend, and definitely especially because a match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea is coming next week.
