Soccer Odds - Manchester City vs. West Brom Match Preview

Manchester-City-vs.-West-Brom-Picks6

Manchester City's chances of winning the Premier League are finished at this point. That said, if the Citizens want to finish in the Top 4, they'd better make sure they don't punt points against West Brom at home.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Citizens are understandably the favorites to win this match, as they're laying -350 on the moneyline and by a goal and a half on the Asian Handicap.

West Brom has played alright on the road at 4-6-5, and perhaps that 10 to 1 price on the moneyline on the visitors might be strong.

That said, the Baggies have only scored 11 goals away from home this year, and that's largely why the total is somewhat low based on this spread at 2.5 and -140 vig on the over.

KEY INJURIES

City is running out of time this season to get healthy. Joe Hart is a question mark here with a calf injury, but Fabian Delph, Vincent Kompany, Raheem Sterling and Yaya Toure might be finished for the rest of the season. That's a big problem for the Citizens and is why they don't stand a chance to win the Premier League in 2015-16.

James Morrison has been out for much of the second half of the year with a hamstring problem. It's entirely possible that his season is over, the same fate which befell Chris Brunt when he tore his ACL last month.

RECENT FORM

Manchester City did the job on Saturday against Bournemouth by winning 4-0. That's the fifth time in six matches in which the Citizens have posted a shutout. That said, they hadn't scored a goal in three straight fixtures until exploding for four against Bournemouth.

WBA has pulled itself far enough away from the drop zone to feel safe at this point. Getting the 40th point of the season against Sunderland on Saturday was big for the Baggies. Their form has been all over the place of late, though. They were disappointing in the draw at Sunderland on Sunday, and that came on the heels of a loss at home against Norwich and a 1-0 win versus Manchester United.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

You don't often talk about sandwich games in soccer, but this is a bad spot for the Citizens to be in. Their two Champions League matches against PSG are the ones which are in between this match against WBA.

Scoring goals has been tough for the Baggies for sure. Saido Berahino has been rather disappointing with just four goals on the term, and Salomon Rondon isn't really the type of player who can take over a game.

However, Tony Pulis' defense has been fantastic of late, and there have been so many times where WBA has overachieved at the back and kept good teams down. This duel will be closer than the 3-0 loss at home which West Brom suffered against Man City earlier in the season.

That said, the Citizens are going to get the three points, though there could be some nervous moments if this match goes through an hour without a goal. There's just too much energy here in this midfield with Kevin De Bruyne and Jesus Navas in such good form, and we think Man City will end up doing enough to get the full share of the spoils.
