Soccer Odds - Manchester City vs. Leicester City Match Preview

Manchester-City-vs-Leicester-City-Odds5

In spite of the fact that Leicester City has set at or near the top of the Premier League all season long, few truly believe that it is going to hold on and win the league. The Foxes are more or less playing with house money on Saturday. If by chance they can go on the road and get any result whatsoever against Manchester City, their chances of capturing their first ever Premier League title will go through the roof.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Would you believe that Leicester City was 5,000 to 1 at the start of the season to win the Premier League? The Foxes are probably just a draw in this match away from being the favorites to win it all and three from probably being the odds-on favorites. It's truly an amazing feat the likes of which we literally never, ever see. There's just no precedent for this in English soccer over the course of the last 20-30 years.

That said, Manchester City, in spite of its three-point deficit at the moment to the Foxes, is the favorite to win it all. Part of the reason for that though, is that it's a -170 favorite to get the three points in this match to close off that deficit. If you truly believe in Leicester's miracle run continuing, the Foxes are +480 on the moneyline.

The total is somewhat high by Premier League standards at a de facto 3.

KEY INJURIES

Leicester City should be at basically full strength in this match. Matthew James and Jeffrey Schlupp are the only minor injury concerns, and they've both been out for the long term anyway and aren't missed on this current team.

City believes that Vincent Kompany will be back wearing the captain's armband this week after missing a few games with a calf injury. That's a huge boost for a team which won't have Samir Nasri or Wilfried Bony up front.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"That will take care of itself. Right now, my focus is with the players I am with and the management I am with. The summer is the summer. It is very exciting for everybody outside of our team, but in our team, it is the moment we live in. Manuel is the manager, we are with each other, and that's how it's going to stay." – Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on the recent news of Pep Guardiola getting the job at the Ethiad effective at the end of this season

RECENT FORM

Normally, the holidays are where dreams of Premier League upsets go to die. However, Leicester just keeps pushing forward with great results. The team wrapped up a two-game home stand with a 3-0 win over Stoke City and a 2-0 win over Liverpool, giving it six straight matches since Boxing Day with at least a point.

City hasn't been in great form, but it also hasn't spent a lot of time at home of late. The Citizens are just 2-2-0 in their last four overall, but they too haven't been beaten in a duel in the EPL since December 21.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

Jamie Vardy is back to his awesome ways once again, as he scored one of the goals of the season against Liverpool on Tuesday. He's scored in virtually all of these massive games this year for the Foxes, and we have to think he's going to get the job done in this one, too.

Man City has been in good defensive form, including holding the Foxes in a scoreless draw at King Power Stadium on December 29, but we think it'll concede once in this one.

This is the type of match Leicester City has been pulling upsets in all year long. We don't think it'll ultimately get all three points on Saturday, but we do think it'll get one in a draw, a result which will certainly suit the visitors more than the hosts.
