ODDS ANALYSIS

Respect for Leicester City is certainly still limited at this point. This match is at the King Power, and it comes at a time where first place is on the line. If the Foxes can win this one, they'll be six points clear of the Citizens heading into the second half of the season. The margin certainly isn't insurmountable, but it could end up being decisive.

That said, Manchester City is still the odds on favorite here on the road at -110. It's basically a 50/50 proposition whether the visitors will get all three points or a lesser stake of the spoils.

The total is high at a flat 3 with -115 vig on the over.

KEY INJURIES

The big news out of the Manchester City camp on Boxing Day was that Vincent Kompany, the team's captain, was coming back into the lineup after being out for a long period of time with a leg injury. He didn't last long, though. A calf problem cropped up just an hour into a match which was already easily won against Sunderland, and now, he's going to be out for at least a few more weeks. Samir Nasri remains out of the fold as well for the Citizens.

Jamie Vardy was suffering from a fever on Boxing Day. Fortunately for Leicester City, there are a couple days off to prepare for this one and get Vardy healthy, though obviously, his health and status are of the utmost importance.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"If there is another team who plays better than you or maybe is more clear when there is a chance to score a goal, then well done to them. I am not happy, but it is okay. Sooner or later, we had to lose. I think Liverpool deserved to win." – Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri on the team's loss at Anfield on Boxing Day

RECENT FORM

The Foxes needn't slump their heads after losing at Liverpool. It was a very difficult match against a resurgent team which has some belief going into the new year. That ended a run of three straight wins and 10 straight EPL matches with at least a point.

City has been playing over matches like crazy of late. The team has allowed a goal or more in nine straight fixtures, and it has scored at least once in eight of those nine. Seven of the nine have cleared the total. Manchester City's most recent result was a good one, a 4-1 win over Sunderland at home.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

The Citizens haven't quite been the same on the road as they have been at the Ethiad this year, and we're a little concerned about that. A 3-2-3 mark in eight road matches doesn't suggest to us that Man City should be an odds-on favorite to claim this victory on the road against a team which is 5-2-1 on its home turf and is sitting atop the table.

Of course, the Vardy illness is important, but if he plays, we would fancy him to find the back of the net in this one. If that turns out to be the case, the defense for Leicester, one which has quietly been very strong in recent weeks, might be able to do just enough to steal the three points and open up a sizeable lead over Manchester City.
