Soccer Odds - Barcelona vs. Sevilla Match Preview

Copa-del-Rey-Final-BET

By its own standard, Barcelona really didn't have a fantastic season. Sure, the team won its La Liga title, but it also bowed out of the Champions League in the quarterfinals, far too early for sure, and it nearly collapsed away the league title with just one point to spare against Real Madrid and three against Atletico Madrid. Still, with the La Liga title in hand, the Catalan side can still rescue a double this year if it can beat Sevilla in the Copa del Rey finale on Sunday.

ODDS ANALYSIS

This is a really tough week for Sevilla. The team has to play against Liverpool in the Europa League final, and it has to follow that up with a match here against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final. Odds have it, both fixtures are going to be lost, and that would be a crushing end to a season which was already disappointing thanks to a seventh place finish in La Liga.

The Catalans are set at -350 on the moneyline and -1.5 by a comfortable margin on the Asian Handicap, and for good reason. They outscored their foes by 83 goals this year, including 30 on the road.

The total has to be high considering the fact that Barca scored 112 goals in the regular season in La Liga, and the number corresponds for sure at 3.5 and -120 vig on the over.

KEY INJURIES

Sevilla is playing without veterans Michael Krohn-Dehli and Jose Antonio Reyes at this point, while Benoit Tremoulinas will also miss the final with a torn meniscus.

Barca heads into the Copa del Rey final with a full roster to choose from.

LIVE BETTING

Barcelona has really embarrassed teams en route to the Copa del Rey final. Villanovense went down 6-1, Espanyol was beaten 6-1, and Athletic Bilbao was destroyed 5-2. Even mighty Valencia, the team which finished fourth in La Liga, was thrashed 7-0 in the first leg against Barcelona before succumbing 8-1 on aggregate.

Sevilla really hasn't struggled either, though it hasn't been presented with a tough task at all. Los Rojiblancos have had a road to the finale paved with Logrones, Real Betis, Mirandes and Celta Vigo, and the match results have been 5-3, 6-0, 5-0 and 6-2 respectively. The real assists came when Real Madrid was ruled ineligible for the Copa del Rey and Atletico Madrid was taken out by Celta Vigo in the quarters in shocking fashion.

QUICK PICK

The road has been nicely paved for Sevilla to get here, but the fun and games are over at this point. Yes, Sevilla has played Barcelona tough this year, even taking three points at home from the Catalan giants, but this match means everything to Barca, and it should have the guts to finish things off, especially against a potentially very tired Sevilla side.

Kevin Gameiro has been ridiculously good this year for Sevilla, but just go back and look at what Barca has done in this tournament. All three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Munir El Haddadi have five goals, while Neymar and Sandro Ramirez have three. No team has anywhere near this much firepower in this tournament, and Sevilla is going to find that out the hard way on Sunday.

It's been a nice run for the seventh place finishers in La Liga, but Barca only has one goal left, and that's to finish off this year with a 28th Copa del Rey title, including its second in a row.

Copa del Rey Odds: Barcelona 4, Sevilla 0
