Colombia hopes that magical run continues against England in Women's World Cup on FS1 Wednesday

England-vs-Colombia.ar

There have only been two games played in Group F of the Women's World Cup, but Colombia already knows that, barring a horrifying set of results, it should be in the knockout round of the tournament.

Getting a point against England would solidify no worse than a second place finish in the group.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Perhaps 48 hours ago, England would have been favored by a greater margin in this game. As it is, the team is a -160 favorite on the moneyline to claim the three points in this one.

However, it should be noted that the Colombians are now the proud owners of the biggest upset of the Women's World Cup. They were +2 on the Asian Handicap against France in the second match day of Group F, yet they walked away with a 2-0 triumph in the process.

The total in this fixture is perhaps a little low at 2.5 (under -140), though with the quantity of attacks which Colombia has given up could suggest a higher scoring final than many would anticipate.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"My team are very ambitious and they showed that again today against France. We're going to unwind a little now before we turn our thoughts to the next match. We've proved that we're not just here to make up the numbers." – Colombia manager Fabian Taborda following his team's massive upset of France

RECENT FORM

It was a rock solid result for Colombia to pick up a point against Mexico in the opening match of the tournament. The 2-0 win against France was definitively the biggest upset we have seen in the Women's World Cup. Colombia, a team which was very fortunate just to get to this tournament, was supposed to just be here for show, but clearly, the South American side is gelling at the right time and has shown no fear whatsoever about going forward for goals.

England has pretty much had the tournament it has expected to have at this point. The team was beaten 1-0 by France, and it took a massive 2-1 decision over Mexico to ensure the opportunity to win Group F. A win and some help will be needed to do so, but at least the Three Lionesses know that they are in a position that a point will probably at least ensure safety into the knockout round.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

The Brits took quite a long time to get started in this tournament, but once Fran Kirby put one in the back of the net, the English ladies came through with flying colors.

Now, we have to question whether the offense which was found 70 minutes or so into the match against Mexico can be sustained or not. Colombia has shockingly been a rock at the back across this tournament, while Lady Andrade has been incredible on counterattacks.

Make no mistake about this fact, though: England is going to have the better share of the proceedings, and it is the deserving favorite.

We fully expect to see the Three Lionesses on the attack the whole night, looking for that three points which could ultimately win Group F. Colombia is perfectly content just to be here at this point, and we have to think that the end result is going to see England get an easy win.
