UFC Odds Online: Hatsu Hioki and Daniel Hooker square off at UFC Fight Night 65

UFC betting online: Hatsu Hioki was once considered one of the best featherweights in the world outside of the UFC, racking up titles in major Asian promotions such as World Victory Road, Sengoku and Shooto.

Now, he could be fighting for his job. Just 1-4 in his past five fights, Hioki is in a must-win situation at UFC 65 against a relative unknown in Daniel Hooker, who’s probably only on this card in Australia because he’s from nearby New Zealand.

Check Bookmaker’s Hioki-Hooker odds to see the latest money lines for each fighter, and expect Hioki to be the favorite going into the bout. While Hioki has been dismal in his UFC stint, he still should be able to beat a nobody like Hooker. However, we’ve been burned by Hioki in the past, on more than a few occasions.

Hooker is coming off a loss to Maximo Blanco in September 2014, but was previously riding a six-fight winning streak fighting in Asia and Australia. At 25-years old, he’s got time to get better, and the young fighter put up a good effort in his loss to Blanco. He especially showed some promise in his UFC debut, earning a first-round TKO win over Ian Entwhistle at UFC Fight Night in June 2014.

Hioki’s failure to translate his successes in Asia is well-documented. After winning his first two fights in the octagon against George Roop and Bart Palaszewski, he subsequently lost to every ranked fighter he faced, including Ricardo Lamas, Clay Guida, Darren Elkins and most recently Charles Oliveira. Hooker is by far the lowest-profile fighter he’s faced in the UFC.

If you bet on Hioki vs. Hooker, you might want to take a chance on Hooker. While this is definitely a winnable fight for the form Japanese champion, I wouldn’t be surprised is Hioki’s bags are already packed for his UFC departure. It’s tough to stick around after your star has fallen so far, and maybe the guy’s heart just isn’t in it any more. If you can get a good plus value one Hooker, it might be worth taking.
