UFC 210 Odds - Myles Jury vs. Mike De La Torre Preview and Prediction

MMA-Undercard-Fight-2-bm

Myles Jury and Mike De La Torre will battle on the undercard at UFC 210 in Buffalo, New York on April 8. Both fighters have been out of action for a while, as Jury has not fought in more than a year, while De La Torre has not fought in more than six months. Jury started his career at 15-0, but he has lost his last two fights, while De La Torre is 14-6-1 in his career. This fight between Jury and De La Torre is part of UFC 210, which features Daniel Cormier taking on Anthony Johnson. There are five fights on the main card and eight on the preliminary card, with four on FS1 and four on UFC Fight Pass.

Myles Jury (15-2)

Everything was going great for Jury in his career, as he won his first 15 fights but it came to a sudden halt, as he lost to Donald Cerrone by unanimous decision in January of 2015. Jury decided after that defeat to move down to featherweight but it made no difference, as he was submitted by Charles Oliveira in the first round late in 2015. Jury has not fought since.

Jury started his UFC career by beating Chris Saunders in 2012. He followed that win up by beating Michael Johnson at UFC 155. He defeated Ramsey Nijem and Mike Ricci in 2013 and Diego Sanchez and Takanori Gomi in 2014. He lost to Cerrone at UFC 182 in January of 2015 and lost to Oliveira in December of 2015.

Mike De La Torre (14-6)

De La Torre has been up and down in the UFC with two wins and three losses and a no contest. He is coming off a loss against Godofredo Pepey in September of last year. De La Torre would have preferred to be back in action before now but he has had to wait. And going a long time in between fights has not been a good thing for De La Torre, as he had almost 10 months off after beating Yui Chul Nam and then he lost to Pepey. De La Torre said that he wants to fight three or four times per year.

The UFC hasn’t really been keen on keeping De La Torre busy, and it is understandable, as De La Torre has alternated wins and losses in the UFC. He would actually have a worse record in the UFC if not for a no contest in 2014. He was submitted by Brian Ortega but that result was overturned, as Ortega failed a drug test. Only one of the last five De La Torre fights has gone to a decision.

UFC Picks

The question we have in this fight is how Jury comes back after having so much time off. He has had plenty of time to get over his loss to Oliveira and I think he is more talented than De La Torre. I am always concerned about backing fighters coming off a long layoff but Jury is the better fighter and De La Torre has done nothing in his career to show he is a fighter to get excited about betting on. I will take Jury to get the win in this bout.
