Conor McGregor not only tops the latest MMA rankings in the featherweight division but after his win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 he also tops the rankings in the lightweight division. McGregor said he wants to defend both titles but whether the UFC will allow that to happen is in question. Let’s take a look at the latest MMA rankings for each of the men’s eight divisions and the two women’s divisions.
Bet on UFC at BookMaker.eu
Flyweight
1. Demetrious Johnson – UFC Champion
2. Joseph Benavidez
3. Henry Cejudo
4. Kyoji Horiguchi
5. Wilson Reis
6. Brandon Moreno
7. Jussier da Silva
8. Louis Smolka
9. Justin Scoggins
10. Chico Camus
Benavidez takes on Cejudo at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale on December 3 in a fight that will determine who takes over the top challenger spot in this division and get a title shot against Johnson. Another fight to keep an eye on takes place at UFC Fight Night 99 as Horiguchi battles Ali Bagautinov.
Bantamweight
1. Dominick Cruz – UFC Champion
2. T.J. Dillashaw
3. Eduardo Dantas – Bellator Champion
4. Marlon Moraes – WSOF Champion
5. Bibiano Fernandes – ONE FC Champion
6. Cody Garbrandt
7. Jimmie Rivera
8. John Lineker
9. Urijah Faber
10. Bryan Caraway
This division is all about Cruz who will be taking on Garbrandt at UFC 207 on December 30th. This is one of the few divisions where UFC fighters don’t dominate the rankings with Dantas, Moraes and Fernandes in the top five.
Featherweight
1. Conor McGregor – UFC Champion
2. Jose Aldo – UFC Interim Champion
3. Max Holloway
4. Frankie Edgar
5. Anthony Pettis
6. Ricardo Lamas
7. Daniel Straus – Bellator Champion
8. Cub Swanson
9. Jeremy Stephens
10. Patricio Freire
McGregor taking on Aldo would be the logical matchup but who knows if that fight will ever happen.
Lightweight
1. Conor McGregor – UFC Champion
2. Khabib Nurmagomedov
3. Tony Ferguson
4. Eddie Alvarez
5. Justin Gaethje – WSOF Champion
6. Michael Chiesa
7. Rafael dos Anjos
8. Edson Barboza
9. Beneil Dariush
10. Benson Henderson
McGregor also holds the lightweight belt and just like the featherweight division the logical matchup here would have McGregor taking on the number one contender, Nurmagomedov.
Welterweight
1. Tyron Woodley – UFC Champion
2. Stephen Thompson
3. Robbie Lawler
4. Demian Maia
5. Ben Askren – ONE FC Champion
6. Carlos Condit
7. Rory MacDonald
8. Donald Cerrone
9. Lorenz Larkin
10. Nate Diaz
Woodley and Thompson fought a great fight at UFC 205 that ended in a draw so an immediate rematch seems likely.
Middleweight
1. Michael Bisping – UFC Champion
2. Luke Rockhold
3. Yoel Romero
4. Jacare Souza
5. Gegard Mousasi
6. David Branch – WSOF Champion
7. Chris Weidman
8. Derek Brunson
9. Robert Whittaker
10. Vitor Belfort
Bisping has already beaten Rockhold so perhaps the next fight for him could be against Romero who has moved up to number three after beating Weidman at UFC 205.
Light Heavyweight
1. Jon Jones
2. Daniel Cormier – UFC Champion
3. Anthony Johnson
4. Ryan Bader
5. Alexander Gustafsson
6. Phil Davis – Bellator Champion
7. Glover Teixeira
8. Jimi Manuwa
9. Ovince St. Preux
10. Liam McGeary
This division is a mess because Jones is suspended until July of next year. Cormier will go against Johnson for the second time at UFC 206 with Cormier listed as a -134 favorite at BookMaker.eu.
Heavyweight
1. Stipe Miocic – UFC Champion
2. Fabricio Werdum
3. Cain Velasquez
4. Alistair Overeem
5. Ben Rothwell
6. Junior dos Santos
7. Travis Browne
8. Josh Barnett
9. Andrei Arlovski
10. Vitaly Minakov
Miocic has already beaten Werdum so it should be Velasquez who gets the next title shot.
Women’s Strawweight
1. Joanna Jedrzejczyk – UFC Champion
2. Claudia Gadelha
3. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
4. Jessica Andrade
5. Carla Esparza
6. Alexa Grasso
7. Rose Namajunas
8. Angela Hill – Invicta Champion
9. Tecia Torres
10. Valerie Letourneau
This division is all Jedrzejczyk with no contenders at all capable of challenging the champion right now but at least Grasso is on the radar after her win over Heather Jo Clark.
Women’s Bantamweight
1. Amanda Nunes – UFC Champion
2. Ronda Rousey
3. Raquel Pennington
4. Valentina Shevchenko
5. Julianna Pena
6. Holly Holm
7. Cat Zingano
8. Sara McMann
9. Tonya Evinger – Invicta Champion
10. Germain de Randamie
It is all about Nunes vs. Rousey coming up at UFC 207 with Rousey listed as the favorite at odds of -170 at BookMaker.eu.
