Who Do Bettors Like at Bellator 170

2017-Bellator-Betting-Odds

Who do bettors like at Bellator 170 on Saturday night on Spike TV? They definitely have a strong opinion on the main event between Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz as they are backing the favorite. The other four fights on the main card have Paul Daley almost a 2-1 favorite vs. Brennan Ward, Hisaki Kato a 3-1 favorite vs. Ralek Gracie, Georgi Karakhanyan a slight favorite vs. Emmanuel Sanchez and Derek Anderson about a 2-1 favorite vs. Derek Campos. Let’s look at who the bettors like on the main card.

Bellator 170 Main Card (Spike TV)

Chael Sonnen -185 vs. Tito Ortiz (rounds 2.5 over -170)

Bettors have been taking the favorite in this one as Sonnen opened up as a -150 favorite and that number is now at -185. This is really surprising to me as Sonnen hasn’t fought in more than three years. Ortiz definitely hasn’t looked good and he has been out of action for about a year and a half but at least he has been training for this fight. Sonnen has been seen a lot on TV in recent years but whether he is ready to fight is in debate. And perhaps a bigger question is whether or not he can win without PED help. Bettors sure seem to think so as they are backing Sonnen as the favorite.

Paul Daley -180 vs. Brennan Ward

Bettors have gone back and forth on this one with Daley currently a -180 favorite. Regardless of who wins this fight shouldn’t last long as both are flashy strikers looking for a quick finish. Daley has 28 wins by KO or TKO while Ward has finished almost all of his 14 wins.

Hisaki Kato -300 vs. Ralek Gracie

Bettors seem likely to go with the favorite in this one as Kato has the clear edge in striking. How high this line will go is the question as laying 3-1 is never easy and Gracie is not without a chance as he has the clear edge if this one goes to the mat. This is another fight that shouldn’t go the distance as Kato is always looking to finish.

Georgi Karakhanyan -135 vs. Emmanuel Sanchez

Bettors are leaning toward the underdog in this one. Karakhanyan is a 10-year veteran who is 26-6 and he has looked good recently in Bellator with wins against Bubba Jenkins and Kirill Medvedovsky. Karakhanyan says he is excited for this bout against Sanchez. “(Sanchez) likes exciting fights, he comes forward and that’s the thing with me too, I come forward,” Karakhanyan said. “I’m not underestimating him; he’s coming from a good camp. He’s trained hard.”

Sanchez is 13-3 in his career including 5-2 in Bellator with his last six fights going to decision.

Derek Anderson -235 vs. Derek Campos

The early line movement on this one has been toward the favorite. Anderson has won five of his seven fights in Bellator while Campos is 6-3 in Bellator. It is somewhat surprising to see this line at more than 2-1 as the fighters appear to be evenly matched.

Anderson and Campos are both happy about the matchup. “He’s on a 2-0 streak and so am I.” Campos said, “We’re both hungry for that title, and it’s going to be a hell of a fight.” Both Anderson and Campos are hoping for a future title shot against Michael Chandler.
