“Semtex” is one of the best nicknames in the sport, and it fits Paul Daley perfectly. The dude’s fists are basically explosive devices. But while that makes him extremely dangerous, that’s pretty much all he’s got. And that’s not gonna cut it against the Canadian.
The truth here is that MacDonald is one of the most well-rounded welterweights in the world. He can use his wrestling to take the fight where Daley is weakest, or he can stick his crisp jab in the Brit’s face all night long. My guess it’s going to be a combination of both, and that it’s not going to be very close.

Former champion Liam McGeary bounced back nicely from losing his title to Phil Davis with a TKO over Brett McDermott. The 6’6” Brit now continues his quest for another title shot with a matchup against the 6’4” Linton Vassell.
While Vassell is a big, tough fighter, McGeary has the greater sum of skills. Liam is a dual threat finisher on the ground or the feet, and his height advantage will be a big factor in getting by Vassell. It’s not going to be easy, but McGeary should prevail.

Cheick Kongo is not the same ferocious kickboxer you remember from the UFC. These days, he’s more apt to grind opponents down with an ugly clinch game. It’s worked for him recently because he’s usually the bigger man, but that won’t be the case against Brazilian Augusto Sakai.
Sakai is 6’4” and maxes out the heavyweight limit at 265. On top of that, the 25-year old has 7 KOs in nine career victories. With Kongo hardly as durable as he used to be, Sakai is in prime position to score the biggest KO of his career.
