Clearly, when you've got 16 horses in the field, it's nearly impossible to have a huge favorite just for the quantity of horses out there. Not surprisingly, the favorite is just 9/2, and there are a number of horses who are 12 to 1 or greater. This race presents a great opportunity to find a big winner here in the Bewitch Stakes on Friday if you've got the grit and smarts to pick one out.

FAVORITE TO FOLLOW

There's all the reason in the world to like Tabreed in this race, the 9 to 2 favorite. John Velazquez has been given the mount in this one, and that's no small footnote by any stretch of the imagination.

Tabreed has been running in a ton of high grade races, something that we haven't seen a lot of with the colts in this world. Granted Tabreed hasn't won a race since October 2013, but she’s been training incredibly well and has three straight podium finishes, including running a 107 Beyer Speed Rating at the Long Island Handicap last November.

UNDERDOG TO WATCH

Keep a really close eye on Lots o' Lex on the inside. The big question that we have about this filly is whether she really has the distance to make it the full mile and a half. She has a relatively unknown trainer in Gerald Aschinger and a completely unknown jockey in Rosemary Homeister, but the results haven't been bad. She finished second in an optional claiming race at Tampa Downs last month, though she was placed as the winner thanks to disqualification.

We have seen some great closes in the past by Lots o' Lex, and if that translates into being able to run longer distances, she could end up being a surprise mare to hit the board.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

This is a really tough race to try to handicap due to the fact that there aren't any fantastic champions in the field. Perhaps the most intriguing filly is Cay Dancer, who will come here to the States from England for her third ever race on American soil.

There isn't a lot of speed in this race, and that’s going to work right into the hands of Cay Dancer, who is going to try to run from off of the pace anyway.

Look for Caroline Thomas to put on a really good run if she can get a good start; the reason she hasn't been winning races in the last year or so is because she consistently gets in trouble right out of the gate.

In the end though, Cay Dancer is going to be our choice, as we don't think that Tabreed is ultimately going to have enough in the tank to get the job done. Lots o' Lex will hit the board right behind her though, in what could be a $400 exacta.
