BookMaker has all the latest golf odds and weekly matchups available each and every week. The UBS Hong Kong Open is scheduled for December 8-11, 2016. The Golf Channel will televise it live.

American Patrick Reed +600 and Olympic Gold Medalist Justin Rose +700 headline this week’s UBS Hong Kong Open. Both Reed and Rose played last week at the Hero World Challenge and may be a bit tired from the long flight to Hong Kong. Reed finished 10th and Rose had to withdraw due to a bad back and his status is questionable.

Other players that have a shot this week include Rafa Cabrera-Bello +1200, Masters champion Danny Willett +1600, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee +2250 and Kiradech Aphibarnrat +4000 and four-time winner in Hong Kong, Miguel Angel Jimenez +8000.

This year’s Hong Kong Open will be the 58th year of the event. The tournament was first played in 1959 and won by Lu Liang-huan and is the longest running sporting event in Hong Kong. It also marks the 16th year the tournament has been part of the European Tour.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Thomas Detry +8000 is a rookie on the European Tour and I will go out on a limb and predict that he will win the Rookie of the Year. The former Illinois star has all the tools to be a force in future years and already is making his mark on the tour. The Belgian was in college this time last year and quickly earned exempt status by winning his first event on the Sunshine Tour and finishing in the Top 5 on that tour in limited starts. Last week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship he earned his first top five on the European Tour by finishing T3. He keeps the mojo going this week with another top finish, if not a win. Detry offers gamers the best VALUE on the board and is a play in all formats.

Miguel Angel Jimenez +8000 has won this event a record four times. The crafty veteran loves playing in Hong Kong and even though most of his best golf is in the rear view mirror, the Spaniard has enough left in the tank to have one more shining moment. The course is not long which will play right into the hands of Jimenez.
