NFL Week 13 Opening Odds Report

NFL-Week-13-Opening-Odds-Report-bm

We're officially on the verge of the last quarter of the NFL season, and with that, we can really start talking about the teams that are and are not in the playoff picture. In both conferences. Week 13 will provide a big test for a lot of away teams, as just a few of the 15 are favored, none of which are by big good margins, and that includes a few division leaders who are out on the road this week. What does that mean? These division races are probably going to get a heck of a lot closer when this week is said and done with.

Games of the Week

Cowboys at Vikings – Thursday 8:25 p.m. ET

For our money, this is the best game of the weekend, and it comes with both teams on full rest. The Cowboys are 10-1 and really look like the best team in the NFL, certainly in the NFC. Not only do they have a two-game lead on the Giants in the NFC East, but they have two and a half games on the Seahawks for the top spot in the conference as well. A win in this one, and you can pretty much forget about anyone running this team down.

But Minnesota badly needs this game. The Vikings lost on Thanksgiving Day to Detroit, and that pretty much relegated them to fighting for the last Wild Card spots unless the Lions really fall apart down the stretch. This offense has been woeful over the course of the last several weeks, and with Stefon Diggs a legitimate question mark for this game, that could be the three best offensive weapons for this team all out at the same time.

Bills at Raiders – Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET

The Bills/Raiders game is going to be considered the undercard game in the 4 p.m. ET hour, but we think this is going to be a good one between two teams that can really put some points on the board and have better defenses than you might think.

Buffalo saved its season these last couple weeks by beating the Bengals and the Jaguars, and all of a sudden, it's 6-5 and just a game back of the last Wild Card slot in the AFC.

Oakland meanwhile, just keeps winning games. It fought off a stern challenge from Carolina last weekend, even against the odds when Derek Carr went out with a pinkie injury for a while. It'll be interesting to see how Carr preps for this game with that bum digit. If the Raiders can win this one, it's going to be really tough for them to miss the playoffs, knowing that they'll have put away Buffalo for good and only have so many more losses they could possibly suffer.

The Raiders aren't getting a heck of a lot of respect here at just -3.5, basically insinuating that they're just barely the better of the two teams in this game.
