League of Legends LCS Korea Betting Odds - The bbq OLIVERS Vs Kongdoo Monster

eSports-Coverage-bm

Entering Week 3 of the Spring Split in Korea, the top of the leaderboard isn’t a surprise to anyone. KT Rolster and SK Telecom T1 are both undefeated and look destined to play for the Spring Championship at the end of the year. However, further down the leaderboard we have seen some interesting results with Kongdoo Monster and Jin Air Green Wings sitting at 0-3 and MVP holding the same record as ROX Tigers. This split, the middle of the table seems to be up for grabs with most of the players at similar skill levels, but that’s why they play the games.

Heading into the season it looked like the bbq OLIVERS would be one of the teams constantly in danger of relegation, but wins against Jin Air and MVP early on have given this team some breathing room and now they are favored to move to 3-1 on the year. Tempt has been one of the best mid-laners in Korea through the early part of the season and carried this team in their two victories. In the first week of action, he scored the first pentakill of the Spring Split on Taliyah and was also solid on Cassiopeia against Jin Air.

It’s been a pretty disastrous start to the season for Kongdoo Monster. Losses to ROX and SKT are respectable, but the way this team lost to Longzhu yesterday is concerning. A combination of poor teamwork, continuous mistakes, and bad teamfights led to this team getting trounced 2-0 and the second game wasn’t even remotely close. Top-laner Roach has the worst statistics of any top-laner in Korea and teams have taken note that he can wander too far away from his teammates and be picked off. Look for Bbq to exploit this.

Afreeca Freecs -550
Jin Air Green Wings +350

How you feel about Jin Air is somewhat influenced by what type of team you think the Bbq OLIVERS are. Jin Air had an understandable loss to SKT and a close loss to Longzhu in Week 1, but were decimated by Bbq in the second week. This team isn’t as bad as this line seems to indicate though. SnowFlower outplayed GorillA for much of the series against Longzhu and he should be able to get the upper hand on Tusin as well.

Afreeca scored the upset of the season so far in the first week when it knocked off Samsung Galaxy, but true to form the Freecs followed up that welcome surprise with a confusing loss to MVP. This team’s MO the last two seasons has been to occasionally upset the best teams in Korea and then suffer inexplicable losses at the hands of bottom tier ones.

Don’t get us wrong, the team has talent. Spirit has been a solid jungler through the first few weeks of the split and Kramer has the second-highest KDA of any AD Carry in Korea. However, whether its focus, bad luck, or nerves, something seems to bother this team when they are playing weaker opponents. With this in mind, you can’t trust AF at that price and instead should wager on Jin Air.
