League of Legends LCS Europe Betting Odds - Unbeaten sides G2 and Misfits highlight a strong second week of action

eSports-Coverage-bm

G2 has picked up right where it left off from last year’s Summer Split. The defending European champions don’t seem to have let a poor performance at the 2016 World Championships keep them down for too long and knocked off Fnatic and ROCCAT in the opening week of action. This week in their lone match, they will face a Misfits squad that has been surprisingly impressive early on in a match that will leave only one undefeated team in Group A.

H2K -210
Unicorns of Love +170

H2K has had one of the more impressive starts to the season, sweeping both Origen and Splyce. Their offseason acquisitions have looked good so far as well, with Febiven playing a pivotal role in the victory over a solid Splyce team. Febiven has the second best KDA in Europe with a mark of 10.4 and posted one of the best stat lines of this young season on Jayce. Febiven had 9 kills and 10 assists on the champion with no deaths and was in complete control of the mid-lane.

UoL has swept both of their first opponents as well, but hasn’t looked as dominant as H2K has in those wins. Particularly, the numbers of Exileh pale in comparison to those of Febiven. Whereas Febiven has looked like one of the best mid-laners in Europe on admittedly early results, Exileh hasn’t shown that he can take over a game like great mid-laners can. UoL has solid pieces elsewhere though in top-laner Vizicsacsi and jungler Xerxe.

Giants -230
ROCCAT +180

Giants may very well be trying to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole when facing ROCCAT here after a match against Fnatic on Friday evening. This was one of the better teams in Europe until midway through last Summer when they just started collapsing. Strangely, the whole team was brought back in the name of consistency, and if they lose this game, there will definitely be changes coming.

ROCCAT has been respectable despite an 0-2 start, considering the two losses were to G2 and Misfits. This team actually took a game off of Misfits, but at the end of the season will still be the one most likely to get relegated in its group.

G2 -560
Misfits +360

This is the match-up that everyone is interested in. There are a lot of people wondering just how good Misfits is following their strong start. Hans sama was great against ROCCAT in the top-lane, posting 11 kills and 11 assists against just 1 death in two victories. However, the star of the show was certainly IgNar. IgNar is only one assist behind G2’s star Support player mithy for most assists in Europe and has done it with far fewer deaths. Signing him in the offseason looks to be a great move.

G2 continues to be the gold standard in Europe and will likely be favored in every match this split barring the emergence of another strong contender or a collapse. The defending champions had a couple scary moments against Fnatic, but emerged as winners when it was all said and done. If there is a weakness on this team, it is in the top-lane, where Expect has lost solo fights and put his team in the hole in the past. If Misfits can keep the mid-lane a draw, they can win the top-lane and beat G2.
