League of Legends EU LCS Week Five Betting Preview

eSports-Coverage-bm-2-16

No one expected Team Vitality to be the team to beat in Europe at this stage of the season. Vitality is 7-1 and two games ahead of the field in the EU LCS near the halfway point of the season. Jiizuke is the toast of the league with incredible performances on an array of champions. He has outplayed almost every mid laner that is considered elite in Europe at this point, but faces his toughest challenge yet this week. If Vitality are able to defeat G2, the current Kings of Europe, it’s hard to not consider them the favorite to take down the Spring Split title.

League of Legends EU LCS Week Five Betting Odds

Giants Gaming -112
Splyce -108

In a region full of flashy mid laners, Betsy has slipped under the radar somewhat. However, he has the advantage in his matchup against Nisqy in this one. Nisqy has been hyped up for over a year as the next big thing, but he has yet to deliver. He has looked to be the weakest of the mid laners on potential playoff teams thus far.

At this point, Splyce is close to a pick based on reputation alone. This was supposed to be one of the top teams in the region with plenty of veterans and a solid lineup, but some of the players are falling apart. In particular, Odoamne is off to an awful start. He has more deaths than anyone else in Europe by a wide margin and is constantly getting dove on or outplayed by his counterpart.

ROCCAT -385
H2K +305

It’s about time to just fade this H2K team until they can win a game. H2K had their worst week of the season last week and is now shifting around its players in order to get something to work. Caedrel was the team’s mid laner, but he recently switched roles to become the jungler, with Selfie taking over in mid. The bottom lane isn’t half-bad, but Smittyj has had a rough go of things in the top lane. He is the only person in Europe with a KDA under one.

ROCCAT will be looking for revenge after a colossal error against Vitality last week. ROCCAT looked set to pull off the upset after winning a late teamfight, but they allowed Cabochard’s Gangplank to sneak in through the back door to take down the base. They should post a dominating result here.

G2 -111
Team Vitality -108

This is the game of the week. We will see whether or not Vitality is for real based on how they fare against G2. G2 has had some growing pains with its new members, but Perkz has been a rock in the mid lane. He has dragged this team to a few victories, bailing the bottom lane out with his play last week.

Seeing him take on Jiizuke will be a treat. Perkz has been the best mid laner in Europe for two years, but Jiizuke is here to rival his throne. It should make for a fascinating matchup.

Fnatic -165
FC Schalke +140

After a slow start to the season, Fnatic might finally be done screwing around. Fnatic hammered both Giants and ROCCAT recently, allowing just seven total kills in the process.

Schalke is a good team, but Fnatic seems to be rounding into shape. They have been more fluid with their strategies, and Rekkles is playing well in the bottom lane.
