The last week of the EU LCS Spring Split’s regular season was insane. Every team could potentially make the playoffs headed into the week, so it was sure to be one full of excitement and heartbreak. The games lived up to the billing. H2K completed a rally to go from worst to first, and Splyce and G2 ended up having to play a tiebreaker in order to determine who would get the second automatic bid into the EU LCS semifinals. After a season full of twists and turns, will the playoffs be more of the same?

League of Legends EU LCS Spring Split Betting Odds

Fnatic -110 Team Vitality +1400

G2 +200 ROCCAT +4000

Splyce +650 H2K +4000

Fnatic is a deserved odds-on favorite coming into the playoffs. Every other European team had a tumultuous offseason, but Fnatic was able to keep its roster intact and even improve by adding Hylissang to be the team’s support. It took a little bit for the team to get going, but they have been unequivocally the top team in Europe over the last half of the season. This meta suits them really well and Rekkles has been on fire this split. He has a 13.0 KDA, which is by far the best in the EU.

The Kings of Europe are fighting to keep their crown. Give credit to G2 for snagging an automatic bye into the semifinals considering they lost four of their five starters in the offseason. It’s been a bumpy season for G2, as the new players have not been on the same page far too often. However, this team is going to be a potential threat as long as it has Perkz. He is still the best mid-laner in Europe, sorry Caps, and can take over a game by drafting a power pick.

Splyce is the best team in that next tier. The bottom lane for Splyce has been solid with Kobbe and KaSing faring well against every team not named Fnatic, while Xerxe has continued to build his case for being the best jungler in Europe. This team’s fortunes turned when Odoamne started to play up to his form though. The former Unicorns of Love top laner had the worst KDA in the region for the first part of the season, but regained his form over the last half of the season. That allowed Xerxe to move more freely, helping the team to vastly improve.

Team Vitality backed into the playoffs, going 3-7 over its last 10 games after a 7-1 start to the season. Jiizuke was outplaying his counterparts in the mid lane and helping his team jump out to early leads which they snowballed into victories. However, as the season wore on, opponents started focusing on stopping Jiizuke, and the rest of the team couldn’t keep the momentum going. Despite their two wins over Splyce, this is clearly the fourth-best team coming into the postseason.

It’s been an incredible season for ROCCAT. The team turned its entire roster over in the offseason after finally having success during the Summer Split of 2017, leaving many wondering how this team would perform with five new players. There were some major problems closing out leads in the late game, but the team also pulled off some impressive victories. This team is extremely unlikely to best Splyce in a best-of-five series, yet making the playoffs is an impressive achievement.

What a ride it’s been for H2K. This looked like the worst team in Europe through the first month of the season and a major shakeup seemed to signal that this team was already looking ahead towards the Summer Split. Some innovative strategies and unique drafts made this team hard to beat though. H2K is a very frustrating team to play against, and they will be a very live dog against Vitality in the first round.
