This line is off. It’s not hard to understand why TSM is such a favorite in this one, when World Elite is a better team. There are a lot of fans in North America who love TSM and think that this will be the year that they finally have success at Worlds. However, TSM finished behind every other major region at MSI, and hasn’t gotten much better.
Team WE is playing at home, and although they have had some missteps in recent weeks, this team is more talented than TSM. Condi should be able to dominate Svenskeren in the jungle and Doublelift won’t be able to have much success in the bottom lane. Xiye is a very good mid laner too, and will mitigate the success that Bjergsen has.
Sure, TSM could win this one, but Team World Elite should be favored here.
Flash Wolves -210 Misfits +180
This spread is more in line with what the odds should be. Flash Wolves are the best team in Taiwan and always acquits themselves well on the international stage. They have a great jungler in Karsa, a great mid laner in Maple, and perhaps the best support in the world in SwordArt.
Conversely, Misfits funnels everything into the mid lane and depend on PowerOfEvil to lead the way. PowerOfEvil is a fantastic mid laner, but it’s hard to win at Worlds if you’re one-dimensional. None of the other two lanes for Misfits will win against Flash Wolves and it will be hard for them to do much.
Look for Flash Wolves to win big here.
G2 eSports -235 1907 Fenerbahce +195
Fenerbahce is the worst team in the tournament. Two of the lanes should lose every match that they are in, and although they played well against Royal Never Give Up in the opener, this team has a hard time winning end game fights. Their jungler Crash is a recent addition to the team, and there are major communication issues between him and his teammates. It’s a testament to Fenerbahce that it got this far, but it won’t be able to get past this G2 team.
This was the type of game that the old G2 lost in the past. A loss here would put them behind the eight ball in a tough group and almost guarantee an early exit once again. Perkz, Zven, and mithy won’t let that happen and G2 will win a slow, methodical game.
Samsung Galaxy -145 Royal Never Give Up +125
Oddsmakers continue to disrespect Samsung Galaxy. There is no team better at late game team fights than Samsung Galaxy, and even if they fall behind early, they usually emerge victorious because of their superior chemistry and team compositions. Ambition is great at getting his teammates ahead early, and should again here.
Royal Never Give Up is on its home turf, but struggled to put away Fenerbahce in its opener. This team has a history of always being the bridesmaid and not the bride, and won’t be able to get past Samsung.
