Fenerbahce Team Preview

LoL-World-Championship-fenerbahce-Team-Preview-Lines

Fenerbahce doesn’t have any history, but did make some on the way to Worlds. They started by knocking off long-time Turkish champs BAU SuperMassive in the TCL in order to reach the Play-In Stage. Luck intervened when they were drawn into a group with the weakest team from a major region, Hong Kong Attitude.

Fenerbahce was able to win the group by beating Hong Kong Attitude in two of its three matches, thus earning the right to play against a second-place team from another group. They were paired against Team oNe eSports and beat the Brazilian champions 3-1 in order to make it to the Group Stage.

Top Lane

When Fenerbahce was formed, Thaldrin was the first person to sign with the team. He has bounced around the Turkish league since turning pro back in 2012 and was a part of the BAU SuperMassive team that went to MSI last year.

At last year’s MSI he did not impress, posting a 1.4 KDA. However, BAU SuperMassive was completely outmatched by the team’s present at the tournament.

Thus far he has performed much better in the Worlds Play-In Stage. He has mostly played tanks, with Maokai being his most selected champion, and posted a 4 KDA on him.

Jungle

One of the craziest stories of Worlds so far involves how Fenerbahce came to have Crash as its jungler for the tournament. Move had been this team’s jungler since May and helped lead them to a TCL title and a spot in the Play-In Stage at Worlds.

Unfortunately, Move was unable to obtain a visa to enter China and the team had to scramble at the last minute to find a new jungler. Because this was due to circumstances outsider of Fenerbahce’s control, they were allowed to keep a substitute and swapped Move for Vici Gaming’s Crash.

Crash was the jungler for Longzhu Gaming from December 2015 to May 2017, but left the team when they decided to overhaul their roster. He has been phenomenal on Gragas so far during Worlds, but there are still major communication and chemistry issues between he and the rest of his teammates.

Mid Lane

Having Frozen in the mid lane has really helped with regards to Crash. They are both Korean so that helps solve some of the communication problems and both were on Longzhu for all of 2016.

Frozen has been the star of the team throughout the Summer Split. He was named MVP of both the regular season and the Summer Split Finals in Turkey and has carried this team at Worlds. His deep champion pool gives him advantage over most other mid laners and he has a 4.2 KDA here. He loves to play Syndra so look for him to jump on that champion if possible.

AD Carry

The play of Padden at Worlds has been very surprising considering his reputation. He has never been held in high esteem as an AD Carry and famously fell asleep before a playoff game once and missed the match entirely.

Through nine games at Worlds, he has a 7.2 KDA and has been phenomenal in the hypercarry meta. His play on both Tristana and Kog’Maw has been great to this point.

Support

JAPONE only got one kill in the Play-In Stage, but was constantly helping his bottom lane partner Padden get ahead. He had an incredible 95 assists in nine games during the Play-In Stage and was superb on Janna.

Prediction

Although this team is the Cinderella of Worlds, they will be lucky to win more than one game. This team has a number of issues and is well behind the other teams in its group. Unlike darlings Albus NoX Luna from last year, it doesn’t play off the wall picks that surprise you and other teams have scouted them out. This will probably be the worst team at Worlds.
