League of Legends Korea action is heating up and it looks like we have ourselves a competition. There are four teams within a game of the top spot at the halfway point of the Summer Split and some of the lower-tier teams have even shown some life. This is the time of the season where the cream rises to the top and the real contenders emerge. Will it be one of the traditional powers like SK Telecom T1 this year? Or can a team that has been knocking on the door like ROX Tigers finally break through and win a tournament?

Samsung Galaxy -460

Longzhu Gaming +310

Samsung has looked much better after a disappointing Spring Split saw the side miss the playoffs. For the most part, it has taken care of business to be a half game back of first place at 7-3, and two of the three losses were to competitors KT Rolster and SK Telecom. Samsung will have revenge on its mind in this match though, as the one loss against a lower tier team they had was against Longzhu back in Week 4. The team had looked shaky as of late, but have won four straight rounds now, all against ESC Ever, after they subbed in Wraith for CoreJJ.

Longzhu has only won two matches this split after a respectable 8-10 record in its debut showing during Spring. Now Longzhu is in danger of being relegated if it doesn’t turn it around soon. The side was thrashed by Team MVP in back-to-back matches and failed to win a round. Fury has been great for this team, but with a rotating line-up and inconsistency throughout, they have struggled to find any chemistry.

SK Telecom T1 -200

KT Rolster +160

SKT has been struggling lately and lost its spot at the top of the table as a result. The defending champions suffered a stunning defeat at the hands of ESC Ever and Faker was outplayed by tempt. SKT rebounded two days ago with a sweep over ESC Ever, but that’s a team that it should have no trouble with. It’s hard to tell whether SKT is actually vulnerable or if they are just experimenting with different things, but they don’t rally soon they will face a tough road to repeat due to the ladder style playoff system.

KT Rolster has been the bridesmaid to SKT for too long, having lost to the powerhouse side in the last two LCK Playoffs. A win over SKT here would give the team a boost of confidence it needs and prove to them they can defeat them in the playoffs after losing to them back in Week 2 as well. KT Rolster has three of the top players in the game right now in Score, Arrow, and Fly. Their KDAs are all among the Top Six in LCK and with Ssumday in the top lane, they are a dangerous side.

ROX Tigers -280

Jin Air Green Wings +220

ROX is the top team in the league right now and playing like it. They have four of the Top Eight players in the league in KDA and Smeb is looking like he might finally win the title that has eluded him for years. ROX is 5-0 since their loss to SKT back in Week 3 and have beaten everyone they were supposed to beat this season. If PraY and Peanut can continue playing at the level they are, watch out.

Jin Air has been in free fall after knocking off SKT at the end of Week 4. Jin Air has now dropped its last four matches and a loss against CJ Entus really stings for the squad’s playoff hopes. They had been playing a strong team game and looked like a competitor early on, but now the team is in disarray and has to rally soon.
