eSports Odds - The wave of the future

eSports-Update-ODDS

League of Legends is still dominating the eSports betting scene and this week we’re going to take a look at the North American League Championship Series. While the North American league isn’t as strong as the Korean league, there are still some very talented teams and challengers for the world title.

TSM -1300

Echo Fox +650

Team SoloMid has dominated the Summer Split so far with a 6-0 record and is a massive favorite to win this match. TSM has crushed its traditional rivals in the North American LCS to date, dispatching of Cloud 9 last week in order to maintain its unblemished record. The team has really come together after struggling to a 9-9 regular season record during the Spring Split. TSM roared up out of nowhere and finished second in the playoffs, and now looks primed to win the Summer Split before the World Championships. As presently constructed, this team is the biggest threat yet to knock off the Asian teams that have dominated the World Championships.

Echo Fox has shown that celebrity ownership is not all it’s cracked up to be. Former NBA player Rick Fox famously founded the team last year after he bought the North American LCS spot of another team. His team is now in trouble of getting relegated after an awful 1-5 start and has been left in disarray after its coach left for greener pastures a couple weeks ago. It’s not all bad news for Echo Fox though, the team still has Froggen in the mid-lane and he is one of the best in the world. Froggen is one of the few that can hold his own against Faker and as long as he’s on the roster, this team can beat anyone.

Immortals -350

CLG +270

This is the premier match of the week in the LCS North America, despite CLG’s 2-4 record. Immortals ran riot over the competition during the Spring Split regular season going 17-1. However, all that was forgotten after the team got trounced by Team Liquid in the playoffs 3-0. If not for the dominance of TSM, Immortals is what we would be talking about in the LCS North America. Huni leads the team from the top lane and was a main reason behind the dominance of Fnatic in LCS Europe last season.

What an awful start to the season for Counter Logic Gaming. CLG is a two-time grand champion but has really struggled to get the job done. This was considered the team to beat coming into the Summer Split after defeating TSM in the Spring Playoffs and winning the title. CLG also got second place in the Mid-Season Invitational last month and the smart money was on this team dominating the Summer Split. HuHi has been a big disappointment this time around and the question is whether or not this team can start to turn it around.

Liquid -145

Apex +115

Both Liquid and Apex are in the middle of the table and need to win some matches to make the playoffs. Liquid started the season 0-3 but has come on strong after Jungler Dardoch returned from a suspension. The team suspended Dardoch because of insubordination and although it’s an unusual move to suspend one of your starters right before the start of the season, it seems to have sent a message. The team has been playing with chemistry since his return and may be poised for a run come playoffs.

Apex is more of a mystery and one of the most inconsistent teams in North America. When the players are on, this team is very difficult to beat, but if they suffer an early setback their mental game suffers and they can become unglued and completely fall apart.
