eSports Odds - Dark vs. Neeblet, Byun vs. TY and more Starcraft II World Championship Series Global Finals Quarterfinals Matchups

2016-eSports-Odds-Update-Bet-Online

The Starcraft II WCS Global Finals are down to the final eight players and the champion will be decided this week at BlizzCon 2016. After some unexpected dropouts before the tournament started, we’ve been left with some surprises in the Quarterfinals and that has given lesser-known players the opportunity to shine. Whoever wins will receive a $200,000 prize so the stakes are high this weekend.

Dark -195

Neeblet +155

There’s no denying that Dark is the favorite to win the tournament and he is the biggest favorite of the Quarterfinals stage. It’s been a fantastic season for Dark and although he only has two wins in Premier Tournaments, he has placed second in four others. His nemesis this season has been Solar, but Solar failed to make it out of the Round of 16 and he’ll be favored over anyone else.

Neeblet is the lone American player left in the tournament and will have the support of most in attendance. He switched from a Terran to a Protoss player last year and is still mastering some of the intimacies of the race. Neeblet shines against Terran players, but has had struggles against other Protoss players.

ShowTime -160

Elazer +130

ShowTime has been on a tear recently and is up to the #3 ranking in the world after his recent play. He dominated his competitors in the group stage, including Byun, and has shown that Europe has some quality StarCraft players as well. He is the best player left from the EU and will look to show it.

For Elazer, he is just happy to have gotten to this stage. Elazer is not considered a top-tier player and has never won a major tournament before. He was not expected to get out of a group with TY and Solar, but pulled it off and everything from here on is gravy.

TY -130

Byun +100

This should be the match of the quarterfinals. Byun is one of the more enigmatic talents that StarCraft has ever seen, capable of winning any tournament or flaming out completely and finishing outside the Top 32. He is a mercurial talent, but one of the best we have seen in the sport. His micro play and APM as a Terran are incredible and that makes him extremely difficult to defeat no matter the opponent.

TY is considered one of the better Terran players of the world, but doesn’t have the same natural talent as Byun. Although TY has been more consistent and has refined his skills better, he hasn’t broken through with a major international win because he isn’t among the elite at the micro play one must have to win titles. His match against Byun will be a tough one and likely go four or five matches, but Byun should prevail in the end.

Stats -140

Zest +110

Stats gave Dark his only loss of the group stage and has had an up and down season. He played for KT Rolster during the season, but is currently not on any roster. He has played some of the best StarCraft of his life this season though and will be a tough out.

Zest is a far more decorated player than Stats, having won five major tournaments over the past three years, but Stats bested him earlier this summer in the Korea Season 1 Cross Finals. This should be a close match as well, but Stats has been in better form lately than Zest and is the pick.
