ELeague Season 2 is wrapping up this week in Atlanta and the Quarterfinals kicked off on Wednesday. The left side of the bracket gave us two exciting, hard-fought series that had to go to a decisive third game and TBS hopes the two Quarterfinals matches on Thursday will be just as tight.

Mousesports -120

OpTic Gaming -120

Mousesports have been one of the most inconsistent teams in CS:GO this season. This team has shown that it can play with and defeat top tier teams one week and lose to anyone with a pulse the following week.

Take for instance this last month. Mousesports won Group A of ELeague and knocked off teams like Cloud9 and Immortals in the process and also performed very well in ESL Pro League Season 4, finishing in 4th place after winning a group that included EnVyUs and OpTic.

If you want to know how bad it can be for Mouse, just look at their results at IEM XI two weeks ago. Mousesports finished dead last in the tournament, failing to win any of their five games. A loaded schedule has probably played a part in their inconsistency and why this team hasn’t won a premier tier event this season.

OpTic won its first premier tier event of the season a few weeks ago when they won the Northern Arena title over G2. It’s been a bit of a rough year for OpTic, who finished in last place at ELeague Season 1, but they have looked much better in recent weeks and might be able to make a run in this tournament. OpTic is on the much easier side of the bracket and would need to only pull off two upsets to win it all if they can get past Mousesports.

However, OpTic first must prove they can defeat Mouse. Mouse beat this side 16-10 when they met a little over a month ago after a horrible showing from Tarik, but OpTic have been more steady and should ride that consistency to a win.

Virtus Pro -200

FaZe +160

Virtus are being touted as one of the best teams in CS:GO right now. The ELeague Season 1 champions may have taken some time off over the last few months to rest, but have still performed well in every premier level tournament they have entered. Virtus finished runner-up at EPICENTER 2016 and ESL One: New York and won DreamHack Bucharest to become the second-ranked team in the world.

Virtus have an advantage over many other squads in that they are all natives of the same country and have no language barrier issues. Whereas other teams, like FaZe, must spend a significant amount of time learning how to communicate with one another, Virtus can continue to hone their skills on each map. That makes an already great team even tougher to beat.

FaZe are still trying to win their first major tournament of the season, despite playing a whirlwind of a schedule. This will be the 23rd event that FaZe has taken part in since the start of the year, but the fatigue hasn’t worn too much on this team. Against a team like Virtus though, where you need to be on your game at all times, that fatigue will set in a little bit and doom FaZe.
