Only three teams are left in the LCS Spring Split Playoffs, and a champion will be crowned on Sunday. Defending champions 100 Thieves will face either Evil Geniuses or Team Liquid for the right to go to the Mid-Season Invitational. There is palpable excitement as the LCS Summer Split Semifinals and Finals will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, and this will be the first event with a real crowd since 2019.

2022 LCS Spring Split Playoffs Semifinals Betting Odds

Evil Geniuses +150

Team Liquid -194

In the regular season, Team Liquid knocked off Evil Geniuses in both of their meetings. However, Liquid had real trouble getting past Evil Geniuses in the first round of the playoffs.

The series went a full five games as Inspired made a lot of plays in the jungle, and Danny more than held his own in the bottom lane. We have seen the Evil Geniuses improve throughout the playoffs too, so they could be primed to pull off the upset.

This has been a good meta for Evil Geniuses, as the ineffectiveness of Jojopyun in the mid lane has been mitigated. He has largely taken Ryze in the draft, allowing him to roam and farm safely without having to win his lane. That has allowed him to help the bottom lane, as Danny has proven to be a late game win condition for the Geniuses.

Danny has had his ups and downs, but he is one of the most talented AD Carries in North America. He has a 6.8 KDA through 12 games in the playoffs, and he has been superb on Zeri and Jinx. We have seen him deal 29.2% of his team’s damage per Games of Legends, and he has the potential to lead Evil Geniuses to the finals.

Inspired has been great too. It took some time for Inspired to build rapport with his new team, but the former jungler for Rogue has been great in recent weeks. He has a 6.8 KDA in the postseason, and he has had a pretty deep champion pool. His Nocturne has been incredibly disruptive, and he has performed well on tank champions too.

The play of Impact in the top lane has been big too. The veteran is almost exclusively playing weakside tanks, and that has really helped Evil Geniuses in team fights during the mid game and late game.

This isn’t a great meta for Team Liquid. Bwipo has not performed well in the top lane, and he is currently carrying a 2.2 KDA with a 50.3% kill percentage. Bjergsen and CoreJJ have not been able to make as big of an impact either, as playmaking mid laners and strong support play has not been as important.

Santorin has only taken tanks in the jungle. He has a 5.3 KDA to lead the team, but he has only selected three champions in 10 playoff games. That’s not encouraging considering what we have seen from Inspired and Evil Geniuses.

However, Bjergsen has a big edge over Jojopyun in the mid lane. Bjergsen is the greatest mid laner in LCS history, and he has been strong on Ahri. We have yet to see him unleash his Zilean, but that champion is always in his back pocket.

This should be a competitive match. The improvement of Evil Geniuses during the playoffs is not something to ignore, and this meta gives them an edge over the more talented Team Liquid.
