Undefeated Errol Spence Jr. (20-0, 17 KOs) will face IBF #7 Leonard Bundu (33-1, 12 KOs) in a welterweight title eliminator this Sunday in Brooklyn. Ranked #2 by the IBF, Spence failed to secure the top five contender that he’d been long seeking. As a result, Spence comes in as a massive favorite.

Spence is coming off one of the best wins of his career, a dominant performance of Chris Algieri where he scored three knockdowns en route to a fifth round stoppage. The win looks even more impressive when you consider that Algieri was able to go the distance with both Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan.

Against Bundu, the undefeated Texan has the opportunity to make a huge statement in a PBC card on NBC. The card is expected to draw a wide audience because it will air immediately following the men’s basketball Olympic gold medal game, which the U.S. is favored to win.

“A lot of people will be watching because of the Olympics that may not have known my name before,” said Spence. “As an Olympian, headlining a major event four years after my Olympic run is exciting. Bundu is an older fighter, but he’s tough and has a lot of experience. He fought well against Keith Thurman. Thurman outboxed him but couldn’t knock him out. I think I can make a big statement if I can stop him, as I did with Chris Algieri.”

The only fighter to last beyond the eighth round against Spence was Ronald Cruz, who lost every frame of a 10-round decision in 2014. Now, it’s up to Bundu to try and hand the surging fighter his first loss.

BETTING VALUES

This is nothing more than stepping stone fight for Spence, who has nothing left to prove when it comes to fighting for a title. At -10000, oddsmakers are predicting a blowout, and any other outcome is highly unlikely.

Of course, betting Spence straight up to win really isn’t worth your time. If anything, wait for the prop bets to drop, then check out the odds you can get for a knockout victory. The payout should be much better in that scenario.
