NBA Friday, March 29, 2024 Parlay Picks

The last Friday in the final full month of the NBA regular season deals a 12-game slate. There are several interconference matchups on the docket as teams finish up their schedules against clubs from the other side while jostling for playoff positioning within their own conference. The LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors are battling to stay in a play-in spot in the West and both will be on the road. The Lakers head to Indiana for the third meeting of the season between the squads while the Dubs visit Charlotte. NBA TV will air a doubleheader featuring the Lakers-Pacers matchup at 7 p.m. ET followed by the Dallas at Sacramento tilt at 10 p.m. ET.

If you’re looking for a good bet the Orlando Magic have won backers a lot of money this season. They’re also right in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race. They did have their five-game SU and ATS winning streak stopped by Sacramento on Saturday and return to the hardwood for a showdown with the LA Clippers. Orlando has paid out in 66.2 percent of its games. Two of the three teams fighting for the top seed in the West tangle when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit Denver. Winners in 15 of 17 games since the All-Star break, the Nuggets leapfrogged the Wolves and OKC into the top spot going 11-6 ATS in that span.

After a nice NBA parlay win on my three-teamer last week I thought I’d up the ante and ride this heater with a four-game wager. Much like they did last season the Lakers are turning it on late in the campaign. They still have a chance to reach the top six in the West getting out of the play-in scenario and they just played a humdinger with the Pacers last week in LA scoring a 150-145 win. And the game ended in regulation. We don’t see teams from opposite conference play three times but this year was an exception with the clubs meeting in the final of the in-season tournament. The Lakers dropped 123 on Indy in that matchup and I see plenty of points between the two forcing me to back the OVER.

Defense doesn’t exist anymore with scores soaring around the league. There are a few teams that defend better than others with the Knicks one of those clubs. NY beat Detroit 124-99 on Monday, the eighth time in 11 games they held an opponent to double digits. In three of those games they limited foes to fewer than 80 points. The Spurs are not an offensive juggernaut and with Victory Wembanyama nursing a bad ankle they’re loss so. Oddsmakers always adjust but even then I’m backing the UNDER.

Take the NBA’s hottest team against a club that’s gone in the tank and the pick is obvious. It has been a strange season, though, so anything can happen. I’m still backing the Rockets in their contest with the Jazz. Houston beat Portland 110-92 on Monday for its ninth straight win with payouts in six in a row while going 12-1 ATS in its last 13. Just last week they crushed Utah 147-119.

I mentioned Orlando above and I’m sticking by them in their game with the Clips. Not only have the Magic surprised in the standings they’ve been the biggest money-maker in the NBA and they have a chance to make a move during a prolonged homestand. Patient teams that play defense give the Clips problems and the Magic fit the mold. They pressure opponents on the perimeter and hold them to an average of less than 109 points.
