NBA Odds - Washington Wizards at Boston Celtics Game Preview

2017-Eastern-Conference-Semis-2-Game-7-Wizards-vs-Celtics-Betting-Lines

John Wall saved the season. Now he’s hoping to extend it some more. The Washington Wizards’ star point guard hit a game-winning three-pointer in Game 6 to set up a win-or-go-home Game 7 against the Boston Celtics which will decide who will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The home team has won every matchup in this series, which has to have Boston feeling good as it heads back to the northeast. The Celtics are going to be favored in this matchup as they aim to win and face off with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference finals.

However, the Wizards have come close to winning in Boston before and just need to put it all together for 48 minutes in order to claim this one and move on themselves. The fans should be excited and this will be a fun one.

This war on the floor will go down Monday, May 15, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The game will be televised live on TNT.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Monday schedule.

NBA Odds

Each team has been favored at home and the trend will continue in this one, as Boston enters as the 4.5-point favorite for Game 7. Early on, about 75 percent of the money is on the Celtics to cover.

The Wizards’ odds on the moneyline are set at +170, so clearly the oddsmakers believe they have a legitimate shot at this upset. Boston is -200 on the moneyline. The scoring total is set at 210, with the money split pretty evenly thus far, although the “over” is getting slightly more action.

The Celtics are 60-34 straight up and 49-44-1 against the spread. Boston has only covered in 21 of 47 games at home on the year. The Celtics are 37-33 against the spread as the favorite on the season.

The Wizards are 56-38 straight up and 47-46-1 against the spread. Washington has played in 47 road games this season, covering in 20 of them and pushing once. The Wizards have covered in 18 of 39 attempts as the underdog this season.

Last Time Out

The Celtics were close to wrapping up this series in Game 6, but Wall came through with a huge three-pointer with his team down two with under five seconds remaining for the 92-91 win. Boston had a chance to win the game but a tough three-point attempt by Isaiah Thomas missed long to force the Game 7.

Bradley Beal was fantastic for the Wizards in the game, hitting 15-of-26 shots for 33 points and he added five assists. Wall had 26 points and eight assists.

Thomas had a decent game for the Celtics, finishing with 27 points and seven assists, but he turned the ball over five times and missed 16 of his 24 field goal attempts. Avery Bradley added 27 points as he is becoming an integral player for the Celtics.

Key Stat

10. That’s how many games the Wizards and Celtics have played between the regular season and playoffs on the year, and it’s also how many wins the home team has in the matchups.

It is the first time the home team has won the first six games of a playoff series since 2008, and the Celtics need that trend to continue for them to move on. Boston went 30-11 at home during the regular season, and after two early blips against the Bulls in the opening round, has done nicely in the postseason.

The Wizards went just 19-22 on the road in the regular season and has just one victory in six attempts on the road in the playoffs. They have to really focus in order to sneak out this road win.

While recent history suggests the Celtics will win this one, go against the grain. Wall is hungry to move on to the conference finals and is playing at a high level. The Wizards have done a better job of limiting Thomas’ greatness since the first two games, and he may force some shots wanting to take over in Game 7.

The outcome could depend on the play of Beal and Bradley. The Wizards’ shooting guard is the superior player, and if he has a good game,
