NBA Odds - Boston Celtics at Washington Wizards Game Preview

Eastern-Conference-Semis-2-Game-2-bm

The home team has won every game and the Wizards hope for that to continue. They played very well last time out and are good at home, which will likely make them the slight favorites. The Celtics were never in it on Thursday but still have the 2-1 series lead and could deliver a huge blow to Washington’s chances with a road win in this one.

Washington is expected to win but the margin for error is small, so it must play well in Game 4.

This war on the floor will go down Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. The game will be televised live on TNT.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the NBA Sunday schedule.

NBA Odds

The Wizards were 5.5-point favorites in Game 3 and came away with an easy cover, cruising to the 116-89 victory. The scoring total was set at 218.5 points and the “under” was the correct call as Boston didn’t score nearly as many points as expected.

Washington improved to 55-37 straight up and 47-44-1 against the spread. The Wizards have covered in 27 of their 46 home games this season and are 29-23-1 as the favorite.

The Celtics are 59-33 straight up and 47-44-1 against the spread. Boston is 27-18-1 against the spread and is now 11-11-1 against the spread as the underdog.

Last Time Out

The Wizards came out hot again against the Celtics on Thursday, just like they had in Games 1 and 2.

The difference was, this time they held on, defeating Boston by 17 points and cruising in the second half.

Washington went on a 22-0 run in the first quarter that led to a 63-40 score at halftime. Boston would never recover from the early deficit as Isaiah Thomas was held to just 13 points after scoring 53 in Game 2.

John Wall led the way for Washington with 24 points, eight assists and three assists. The Wizards held Boston to only 35 percent shooting and out-rebounded them 50-38. The Wizards showed what they can do when they put everything together, but need to make sure it happens again.

Let’s Get Physical

The game got heated on several occasions with eight technical fouls being dished out and three players being ejected.

The Wizards’ Kelly Oubre was ejected in the second quarter for knocking seven-foot Boston center Kelly Olynyk to the ground after a hard foul. Terry Rozier and Brandon Jennings were also ejected in the fourth quarter following an argument.

It remains to be seen if Oubre gets suspended for Game 4. He isn’t a starter, but he has given his team a nice boost off the bench in the postseason. Check on his availability, as it could have a small factor into the outcome.

Free NBA ATS Pick

The Wizards have looked like the better team in this series for many long stretches in each game. Boston was able to rally twice on its home floor to take an early series lead, but now Washington is in position to tie things up.

The Wizards know how crucial this game and won’t let it slip away. Expect a game that goes down to the wire in Game 4, with Wall showing his All-Star skills with some big baskets late in the fourth quarter.

Choose the Wizards to win but a cover may not happen if the spread is as large as it was in Game 3.

NBA Odds: Wizards 108, Celtics 105
