NCAA Basketball February 25 Parlay Picks

My parlay picks mimicked last Saturday’s in that they ended up 3-2 ATS, but we were never in a position to sweep the board with the two losers never having a shot. Indiana proved to be one of those losing investments after getting pushed to the brink by Illinois before scoring the 71-68 win and non-cover. Mizzou was the other after getting wire-to-wire jobbed by Texas A&M on its own hardwood. And now for the good news; Texas Tech continues its ascension as predicted by going into Morgantown and handling the Mountaineers. K-State also got the job done for us by holding serve in the “Octagon of Doom” against Iowa State to even up the season rivalry with the Cyclones. And finally, Utah State closed the night out on a high after defeating Nevada by margin. Only two gargantuan college basketball betting slates remain on the docket – let’s see if we can’t pull off another broom job at the online sportsbook!

Iowa State Cyclones

The Cyclones return home to Hilton Coliseum looking to put an end to a two-game losing streak after falling to both K-State and Texas in hostile territory. Neither game was covered against the closing CBB odds moving T.J. Otzelberger’s troops to a bankroll bursting 2-8 SU and 3-7 ATS on the true road. This however is a much different team playing in front of the hometown faithful that’s won all but one of 15 played games and covered the spread ten times. Oklahoma is a walking corpse right now and the Clones already got them once in Norman. Lay the points with Gabe Kalscheur and Co. in this get-right spot.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

My end of season ride or die has been Mark Adams’ Red Raiders and I won’t be jumping ship after Kevin Obanor and his mates just cashed a third straight ticket for me after going into Oklahoma and toying with the Sooners. The offense has really started to catch fire over the course of the current 4-game win streak with it logging 71 or more points in each game. When healthy and able to fire on all cylinders, TCU is a dangerous squad. One I think can cut down the nets in early April! But it’s not firing on all cylinders right now and Tech is looking to bolster its resume. I’d say a Quad 1 win over the Horny Toads would do just that!

Texas Longhorns

Many will be looking to back the homebased Baylor Bears in this one who return home with their tail between their legs off dropping back-to-back road games to both Kansas schools. I won’t be of the many. The Texas Longhorns are the only true contender in the way of the Jayhawks winning yet another Big 12 regular season title. That’s something Marcus Carr won’t allow his teammates to forget with the Horns in a position to sweep the season rivalry from their in-state rival. Texas ate the Bears up in the paint in the first matchup and it should be able to mimic that feat in the rematch. Hit Texas on the moneyline once oddsmakers install them underdogs!

Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Dawgs are currently fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives. Their recent upswing currently has them installed as one of the last four teams in the tournament per Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology piece at ESPN. On the flipside, Texas A&M is in the Dance regardless of how it closes out the regular season or performs in the SEC Tournament; it’s currently predicted to be an eight-seed. With just three Quad 1 wins to its credit, a triumph in this spot on its home floor would do Mississippi State an enormous solid. With the team 6-3 SU its last nine and covering the closing number all but once during that stretch, I’m expecting a huge showing from Tolu Smith and Co. in this prime Aggies letdown spot.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Only ten days ago, the talking heads were spouting off about Kentucky and North Carolina each possibly participating in the NIT Tournament. Now that the Wildcats have successfully righted their ship to get back into the Field of 68, it’s time for the Tar Heels to take that deuce or get off the pot. No better time than now to log their first Quadrant 1 win than against the Virginia Cavaliers who just lost its stranglehold of the ACC’s catbird seat to Miami after falling at BC. I haven’t been sold on the Wahoos all season long, and will look to fade them in their final true road game of the season. UVA’s already dropped four games on the ACC road, and I got this late afternoon spot in Chapel hill clocking in as the fifth!
