National League heavyweights will close out a crucial three game set at Chavez Ravine on Wednesday night when the Nationals send Joe Ross to the bump to square off against the Dodgers and Julio Urias who could be making his final start of the season.

ODDS ANALYSIS
While the Nats sit a comfy 5.5 games ahead of the Marlins atop the NL East standings, Dusty Baker can’t be too pleased with the form his squad enters this series with LA in. After winning an emotional three game home set against the Cubs, they opened this extended roady up in San Diego where they went on to drop the final two games after struggling to take the first two. The offense went silent over the weekend, and with it now set to square off against the Dodgers’ No. 4 ranked pitching staff, it best get back to scoring some runs or else they’ll be looking to score their first series win of this trip in Milwaukee.
It’s taken some time for the Dodgers to get going this season, but after taking three of four from the Brew Crew over the weekend, the club has now logged series wins in each of its last two tries. Sunday’s walk-off win moved LA to 20-15 overall as a host (-$288), and chewed $100 off their season long deficit that now sits at -$359. They’ve taken four of their last five home series, and are now tied with the Marlins for the wild card. They do however trail the Giants in the division by 6.5 games.
PROBABLE PITCHERS
Making what will be his 14th start of the season will be second-year hurler Joe Ross. The righty is 6-4 for the season and has seen his club come out on top in each of his last five starts. Four of his last five starts have been of quality, and he just threw six innings of 3 ER ball at the Padres to acquire win No. 6 on the year.
He’s been at his best away from D.C where he checks in 4-2 with a 2.80 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with a K/BB ratio of 41:17. He got roughed up in his lone career start against the Dodgers in this ballpark where he surrendered 5 ER and 6 hits (1 HR) through just 4.2 innings of work.
Julio Urias is only 19-years old. Let that sink in for a second. He’s 19 and will be making his sixth career start in this one against Bryce Harper and company.
Since getting ripped for 8 ER and 3 HR through just 7.2 combined innings against the Mets and Cubs, Urias has given fans of the sport a glimpse of what’s to come down the road. Over his last 14.1 inning, the flamethrower has conceded just 12 hits and 3 ER while racking up 22 strikeouts and 3 walks. Remember, he’s only 19 and that’s insane!
Julio only threw 80 total innings last season and is already at 58 this year. This will likely be his final start before being either sent down or shut down for the season.
LIVE BETTING
Current Dodgers have a grand total of seven at-bats versus Joe Ross. Current Nationals have a grand total of zero at-bats versus Julio Urias - Advantage starting pitchers.
This looks to be another fantastic scenario where a wager on the first five innings under the total is a must. The under has cashed in four of Ross’s seven overall road starts, and Urias is simply on a roll and on a pitch count. The under also cashed in his pair of home starts.
With that the case, let’s take the bullpens out of the equation – even though each has been solid – and look for nothing to get put on the board through the first five.
QUICK PICK
Washington has been shut put each of the last two times it took to the field at Dodgers Stadium. I’m not a fan of how this team looked in the final two games with the Padres, while things just look to be lining up for LA recently.
I’m a big fan of Urias and believe he has close to unhittable stuff when on. With this likely his last start for a while, look for the youngster to rise to the occasion and put forth his best effort to help lead his club to a win and possible series win.
MLB Odds: Dodgers 3, Nationals 0
